What glue to use for DIY crafts. What to glue. Glue for fabric applications Glue felt how to use

Glass and metal are fairly common materials that can be used in everyday life and industry. Often there is a need for gluing such materials, with which quite a lot of difficulties can arise. For this, special substances and adhesive technologies are used.

What substance to use?

First of all, you should decide which substance to use to connect the two materials. How to glue metal to glass - a similar issue is considered solely taking into account the characteristics of the selected adhesive. They may be as follows:

  1. Two component epoxy adhesive. It is characterized by high insulating properties, very high strength, electrical conductivity. In most cases, its consistency is transparent, consists of two components, for application it is enough to mix them together. Today, such adhesives are very widespread, as they are easy to use and allow you to achieve a very high result.
  2. Silicone with high thermal stability. It is often used for gluing glass to oven metal. The main properties are indicated by the manufacturer in the instruction manual, as a rule, the layer after hardening is not afraid of fats, oils and exposure high temperatures. In addition, resistance to low temperatures is distinguished among the main properties, the glued object remains intact even when the indicator drops to -60 ° C.
  3. A product called Moment-Crystal. When using it, the gluing procedure is greatly simplified, the interlayer is elastic and resistant to a variety of influences. After the deforming load has disappeared, the interlayer returns to its original position after some time. Such an adhesive is often considered when looking for an answer to the question of how to glue glass and metal, especially when working with parts that can be subjected to vibration loading.
  4. Automotive adhesive in its main characteristics resembles rubber. It is ideal for bonding metal and glass. It should be borne in mind that when decorating, it is chosen extremely rarely, since it has a black color.

Gluing a metal surface to a glass one or vice versa should be done only taking into account the basic recommendations of the manufacturer.

As a rule, the instruction manual is placed on the back of the package.

How to glue?

The instruction largely depends on which adhesive was chosen. In order to prevent serious mistakes, you must follow all the rules and recommendations. Most attention is also paid to where exactly the resulting product will be used and under what conditions.

  1. Do not neglect the recommendations that relate to the use of a solvent. With high-quality degreasing of the base and removal of all contaminants, a high quality of conjugation can be achieved.
  2. Paint and other coatings must also be removed, as they significantly reduce the degree of bonding of individual elements.
  3. It is recommended to heat the glass before its direct gluing. The heating temperature should be around 30 degrees Celsius. A similar indicator can be achieved only when using a building hair dryer. It should be borne in mind that with a sharp increase or decrease in temperature, the glass may crack. Therefore, the heating process must be carried out with caution.

You can speed up the drying of the glue by placing the product under a press. We must not forget that the applied load must be distributed evenly, otherwise the glass may burst.

Cyanoacrylate

Super glue has become quite widespread. It can be used to obtain reliable mates of various types. The two-component version is most often used for bonding glass and metal. Its main advantages are waterproof and fast drying. Among the features of its application, the following points can be noted:

  1. The elements to be connected are prepared accordingly.
  2. The two components are mixed until a homogeneous mass. It should be borne in mind that the paste can be in a plastic state for only a few minutes.
  3. After obtaining a homogeneous mass, it is applied.

At the time of gluing, it is necessary to ensure a snug fit between the two surfaces. This ensures a reliable connection.

sealant

Also, to achieve this task, you can use various types of sealants. As a rule, the sealant provides a high degree of sealing of the joint. That is why it is used in the event that it is necessary to achieve not high strength, but water permeability.

The procedure for bonding two elements when applying a sealant is not significantly different. Among the features, we note that the sealant may take longer to dry.

In addition, the resulting pairing is characterized by less reliability.

Moment crystal

Such a substance is characterized by the fact that it forms a soft layer that can withstand a slight displacement of the glued objects relative to each other and then restore its shape. Among the features of the application, the following points can be noted:

  1. It is important to prepare both surfaces well, and then heat the glass and metal. This increases the reliability of the connection of the adhesive composition with the base.
  2. As a rule, the adhesive is supplied in one-component form. It may be in the form of a liquid or a paste. Uniform distribution allows you to achieve better results.
  3. Do not forget that a high load should be exerted on the connected elements, but it should be evenly distributed. Otherwise, the glass may break.

The instructions for using the adhesive in question also indicate how long it takes for it to dry completely. It often takes several hours, but 100% strength takes longer.

Automotive adhesive

Transparent automotive adhesive is also commercially available. With its use, you can achieve a high quality connection. A similar adhesive for glass and metal is used as follows:

  1. Surface preparation is carried out, for which dirt and foreign substances are removed. If possible, both mating surfaces should be as smooth as possible.
  2. For degreasing, a substance is used that does not form a film on the surface.
  3. It is checked how tightly both surfaces are mated with each other.
  4. The part is preheated with a building hair dryer to a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, thereby increasing the efficiency of the connection.
  5. The parts are installed so that the seam is in a horizontal plane as far as possible.
  6. While the surface remains warm, metal and glass are glued. Care must be taken to ensure that the applied layer is uniform. In addition, it is recommended to remove the excess that comes out immediately, since after hardening they can create quite a few difficulties.

You can choose this type of glue to connect a wide variety of products, but most often it is used when gluing a windshield. It should be borne in mind that a lot depends on the quality of the adhesive composition. That is why it is recommended to give preference to products well-known manufacturers. Poor quality products will lead to an unstable fit of glass to metal, after a while the degree of sealing of the joints decreases.

Using a UV lamp for gluing

To ensure a strong connection, an ultraviolet lamp is often used, with which it is much easier to glue. It is useful when using a special adhesive for glass and metal, such as VERIFIX MV 750 or B 682-0. The first version should be used exclusively for transparent glasses. Recommendations for glue with UV lamp are as follows:

  1. Before starting work, both surfaces are degreased and cleaned. Do not use gasoline or kerosene for this, as such substances can leave a thin film. On sale there are special liquid solvents for glass.
  2. With the help of a hair dryer, the glass is heated, due to which the adhesion index is significantly increased. In this case, it is recommended to reach a temperature of around 60 °C.
  3. The glue is applied in a thin layer, after which the products to be joined are applied to each other.
  4. Using a bonding lamp, the surface is irradiated twice. At the first stage, the degree of connection is 70%, at the second stage, the strength increases to almost 100%.

The duration of irradiation largely depends on which lamp will be used for this. All of them are classified according to the power index. The first stage of irradiation, as a rule, is much shorter than the second.

Flooring and tiles section

When it becomes necessary to glue parquet, laminate or tile, experts turn to professional compositions of well-known brands.

Tile adhesive is represented by two categories - adhesive pastes and dry cement-sand mixtures. If a we are talking about polystyrene ceiling tiles, use a transparent composition based on acrylic or PVA. For porcelain stoneware, you need an option for attaching tiles to a wall or floor. Pretty popular with Unis builders.

There are several varieties of adhesive for linoleum, each of them is intended for one or another type of linoleum - commercial or semi-commercial, natural-based, homogeneous, with antistatic properties.

There are a lot of companies producing compositions for parquet and laminate. Many are familiar with Ceresit glue, as well as Litokol, Tarkett, the quality of which has been tested over the years. But in order to even dear good composition He did his job, you need to choose it carefully.

For decorative elements on the walls

Adhesives for decorative elements can be attributed to a special category. These include skirting boards, decorative stones, plastic, corners and even windows. For their gluing, sealants and polyurethane mixtures are used that are resistant to moisture, ultraviolet, and aging. They reliably glue metals, ceramics, wood, stones, polymers.

When choosing a composition for a skirting board, they pay attention to two main parameters - the neutrality of the content in relation to the colors of the ceiling and walls, as well as the strength of the installation.

The adhesive for plastic should also be transparent, while one composition is suitable for PVC panels, and another for polyurethane panels. Liquid nails are often used as an option for corners, which are easily applied with guns.

Mix selection for decorative stone should proceed from the type of stone - either gypsum-based or cement-based. The most popular dry mixes are Ceresit and Knauf.

Modern manufacturers produce options that are universal and fasten different surfaces. These include, for example, Cosmofen.

Adhesive for household needs, houses and cottages

For domestic use, manufacturers offer a variety of options that do an excellent job of their tasks and at the same time are inexpensive.

Adhesives for glass are characterized by a high degree of transparency, fast setting with different surfaces– wood, metal or other glass. With this composition, it is easy to revive a broken vase or mirror.

If you need to glue rubber or attach it to some other surface, use the option for rubber. It is conditionally divided into four categories depending on the duration of exposure - at least a day, up to 12 hours, up to 30 minutes and instant.

Among the glue for wood, one can single out the simplest and most popular - PVA, which can be safely called universal. It is sold ready-made, can be stored for a long time, and is non-toxic.

On sale are also mixtures in the form of creams, water-dispersed options that are suitable for different types of trees, as well as plywood, chipboard, veneer, laminate. The Henkel line of products, Titan alcohol-based formulations, as well as melt products, are quite popular.

There is probably paper glue in every home, and even more so in the office. The easiest option is in the form of a pencil. It is light, compact, convenient, but suitable for temporary bonding of light sheets. PVA will do just fine even with thick cardboard.

It is enough to apply it in a thin layer and firmly press the surface. The mastic will set in a few minutes. For many years, silicate glue, or office glue, has been actively used to bind paper. The product is based on an aqueous solution of potassium or sodium polysilicates. But over time, the glue line turns yellow and crumbles, so it is not suitable for responsible work.

For thin paper, acrylic is suitable, which reliably adheres to surfaces and does not turn yellow over time. Quite popular is dextrin powder, which is diluted with water, after which it is ready for use. The “Mars” tool can be attributed to the universal one, which fastens well not only thick cardboard, but also leather and dermantin.

If at home there is a need to glue large surfaces, it will be convenient to use aerosol glue, which is easily sprayed and holds both porous and smooth surfaces together. With the help of such mastics, leaks are also sealed.

Adhesive for transport

In the automotive industry, repairs cannot be done without special tools and rubber glue. There are many varieties, and options should be selected individually for each surface.

A punctured wheel is no reason to be upset. Both at home and in the auto repair shop, using special formulations, it is possible to quickly correct the situation. Vulcanizing liquids are often chosen as glue for bicycle and car wheels, which allow you to quickly and efficiently make tire patches.

For automotive glass and plastic, a variant is used in the assembly of automotive components, for sealing glass, repairing units, replacing old gaskets. For these purposes, silicone sealants with good adhesion to metal are excellent.

For the repair of rubber and canvas boats, products based on waterproof rubber are used. They bond rubber to rubber well, including in the presence of painted metal parts, glass, plastic, wood, and plastic. Most of the tools are affordable and even when used at home, they successfully cope with their tasks.

Glue in medicine and beauty industry

Adhesive mixtures have long been adopted by women who, with the help of such means, increase, build up, strengthen hair, nails and even wigs. For cosmetic purposes, special products are being developed that are safe for health.

Eyelash extension service is one of the most popular in beauty salons. Artificial eyelashes are attached to the eyelid with a special composition, which should dry quickly, be invisible, durable and at the same time not cause allergies, do not smell. During the procedure, a high-quality product does not sting, provides an inconspicuous fastening of the artificial eyelash to the skin. Premium brands include Ag Beauty, Macy, Dolce Vita eyelash adhesives. You can find many cheap Chinese analogues on the market, but a self-respecting master will not use them - they leave a white coating.

Nail glue is an indispensable assistant for nail service masters. It is used to repair artificial and natural nails, as well as glue for rhinestones, lace, foil, fastening tips. A high-quality product does not damage the nail, does not cause irritation, withstands exposure to ultraviolet radiation, water. It is produced in convenient packages and does not require additional tools to work with it. It hardens in a few seconds and lasts for a long time.

Hair extensions are popular and expensive. To fix the extended strands, a composition for hair and wigs is needed. The selection of funds is based on the type of extension. So, for hot, special heated resins are used, however, they will keep hair for no more than three months. With cold extensions, donor strands are fixed with a two-component composition that does not cause irritation on the skin.

If it is necessary to securely fasten the wig, special mixtures based on polyurethane are used. They are attached to the base of the wig, entering into a chemical reaction with them, and the other side is attached to the scalp until the next peeling.

In medicine, BF glue is indispensable. This is a well-known antiseptic that effectively disinfects and accelerates the healing of scratches, cracks, burns, and abrasions. Dentists treat the roots of teeth with it to treat inflammation. Also in medicine, other options are used for sealing seams, gluing bones, restoring muscle tissue.

Adhesive for leather and shoes

Means for shoes and leather have a one-component quick-setting composition that holds leather blanks, plastic materials with polyurethane soles. They are used for hot gluing of natural or synthetic leather, as well as rubber, rubber. Does not require thermal activation and hardener.

For PVC, Mars glue is used to repair shoes, applied to the surfaces to be glued in two layers. The first must be dried for 20 minutes, and then reapplied. Then the patch is applied to the right place and bandaged to the shoe. The bandage can be removed after a few hours, and after another two put on shoes.

Shoe repair products are strong, durable, do not leave stains, are easily cleaned with a solvent, and set quickly.

Production adhesive

Means for installation and production work are presented in the form of melts or dispersions of inorganic or organic compounds, as well as solutions. With their help, leather, glass, plastics, wood, paper, faience and other materials are fastened.

Synthetic products are polymers and monomers, for example, BF.

Polyurethane glue appeared in Russia not so long ago, but very quickly gained popularity. It is waterproof, sets quickly, and can be applied over a wide temperature range. Qualitatively fastens wood, rubber, metal, PVC, rubber.

Epoxy adhesives are made on the basis of epoxy resin and are used to bond crystal, pottery, porcelain, precious stones, plastics.

Another option is casein glue from dairy industry waste, which includes mineral salts, slaked lime, casein and kerosene. Sold in powder form and needs to be dissolved in water before use.

Under decorative elements I mean rhinestones, pebbles, mosaics, shells and other nice little things that can complement the decor.

Let's say you've created a beautiful seascape on canvas. Of course, for volume and realism, I want to add a large beautiful shell and a couple of cobblestones (sorry, pebbles found on the occasion). Moreover, a dried starfish just asks for a canvas. Only here on PVA you cannot glue these decorations. What glue to take?

Surely you have seen that designers usually use a “hot gun” in television workshops. You can buy it at a hardware store.

Glue for the gun is available in the form of rods. You load the gun with them and plug them into the socket. The glue starts to melt. Now pull the trigger and squeeze the liquid adhesive mass right into the right place on the canvas. And press the shell there. The glue dries quickly and the shell is glued! Everything is great. What are the downsides?

Minus 1. The glue is very hot and viscous. Be careful yourself and do not give this tool to small children!

Minus 2. It is difficult to squeeze out a small amount of glue, so it sticks out from under small objects. Well, nothing, it's transparent.

Minus 3. The collage turned out beautiful. You hung it on the wall and can't stop looking. Only in the evening suddenly the pebbles fell off one after another with a roar ... By morning, a shell followed them. The star, due to its dryness, lasted longer than the others. And all due to the fact that not every hot melt adhesive is able to hold a heavy object of complex shape on a complex surface.

But the glue gun is indispensable when gluing light decorative elements with a “floristic bias”, such as dried flowers, ribbons and other absorbent and loose material.

There are other options, such as Moment glue and various super-glues. You can use them, but the pungent smell and the same malleability are a little embarrassing.

You can try different mosaic adhesives. However, they are not all perfect. Some have a smell, others have a color. Ideally, we need a transparent adhesive that is easy to use, odorless and provides reliable adhesion to the surface.

Perhaps the most convenient glue for gluing decorative elements is glue for rhinestones. It is suitable for any surface, including fabric; has no smell, tk. made on water based; easy to use - they cannot be burned and easily squeezed out, because it is packaged in a soft tube with a thin spout. And, most importantly, this glue holds really firmly. You can usually buy it in art stores, in the same place as all decorative materials.

Another great glue is clear acrylic gel. It comes in matte or glossy. If you are working with a matte surface, it is better to take a matte gel (and vice versa). acrylic gel meets all our requirements. The gel is available in plastic tubes or glass jars. I usually use gel for gluing large elements and it has never let me down! However, keep in mind that both glue and gel dry for a long time. If you are gluing a large object, and besides, it is uneven (such as a shell), you will need a lot of gel. The surface must be horizontal. Apply glue or gel, put a shell on it. If necessary, excess gel can be easily removed cotton swab. Leave the product to dry until the gel is completely dry (preferably for a day). If the elements are small, a small drop of glue or gel is enough. The glue will "grab" very quickly, the gel - a little longer.

I advise you to try these tools, you will surely like them. Just remember to dry and degrease the surface well before gluing. And one more note: if the shell fell off along with the paint, then it's not the glue. The reason is the poor adhesion of the paint to the surface. That is why it is necessary to prepare the surface for painting.

I wish you creative success!

How to connect pieces of fabric together? Sew - many of you will answer. But sometimes these materials have to be glued together. Most often, this method is used by needlewomen who make a variety of hand-made products: toys, hair accessories, jewelry. But in everyday life, sometimes it happens that you need to glue fabrics. For example, if a small hole appeared on the clothes. It is not always convenient to sew a small patch. But if you stick it, then the place of "repair" will be almost imperceptible. How to glue fabric to fabric is the topic of our article. We will tell you what materials can be used to fasten textiles together.

Glue for decoupage

In craft stores, you can find a tool for making appliqués from textiles. It can be used to glue different types of fabric together. This glue is good because it does not seize immediately after application. You will have a few minutes after application to calmly place the pieces on top of each other, align and move them if necessary. After drying, the product will not show stains and streaks from this material. Before you is the question: "What kind of glue is better to glue the fabric?" The answer is simple - decoupage.

rubber glue

When thinking about what glue to glue the fabric with, think about a rubber-based bonding material. It is applied to both textile parts. Then they are carefully laid on top of each other and left to dry for about an hour. After this time, the place of gluing is moistened with acetone, the fabric is placed under the load for several minutes. It is desirable to leave the product that has undergone such processing for another ten hours to “adhere”.

How to glue fabric to fabric? Textile spray to help you

This type of adhesive material is applied from a distance of 30 centimeters to the surface of the fabric. Immediately place the part to be attached on it. Place a flat heavy object on top and leave the product to dry. This glue belongs to the "temporary fixation" category, so it should not be used where pieces of textile need to be joined tightly. But for the manufacture of applications and works in the technique of silk-screen printing, this material is simply ideal.

adhesive tape

Braid "gossamer" - this is the name of this material for fastening textile and other products. It is sold in fabric and accessories stores. Before gluing fabric to fabric, prepare materials. Turn on the iron while it heats up, lay a dry "cobweb" tape between the pieces of textile that need to be connected together. Now iron the top. Turn it over and iron on the other side. The glue melts when heated and holds the parts together. It is important to know that before fastening thin textiles (silk, satin, chiffon) or natural wool, they must be covered with gauze on top. This is necessary so as not to burn the fabric.

Now you know how to glue fabric to fabric, and if necessary, you can choose the right tool for this purpose.

methods, types and characteristics of the compositions

The need to glue fabric to fabric often arises in home needlework, everyday life, the textile and furniture industries. For this, fabric glue is used. How to use such glue to create a connection for a long time and without defects?

How to glue fabrics to fabrics, types of adhesives

The fabric has a flexible structure, often deforms and is washed. The fabric-to-fabric connection must be strong enough to withstand various types of loads - tension and compression, exposure to hot air and chemicals, contact with water and ultraviolet radiation.

The basis of adhesive for fabric is usually one of the substances:

  • polyurethane - glues all types of fabrics together;
  • neoprene - high strength and resistance to temperatures;
  • butadiene-styrene - professional strength, industrial use;
  • polyvinyl acetate - universal textile adhesive;
  • nitrocellulose - necessary to glue the fabric to the skin;
  • polyvinyl chloride - provides bonding of fabric with wood, plastic, leather, ceramics, glass, rubber and other types of textiles;
  • rubber - allows you to achieve maximum elasticity of the seam.

When choosing an adhesive, many factors should be taken into account: the type and quality of the surfaces to be glued, what is supposed to be glued, and in what conditions they will be used finished goods what mechanical stresses they will be subjected to. Do you need transparency and water resistance of the adhesive composition, is the elasticity and flexibility of the resulting seam necessary?

Types of adhesives:

Hot glue. Widely used by professional seamstresses, it is commercially available in powder or solid form. The powder to obtain glue must be diluted, and solid glue sticks are melted using special glue guns. Advantages - bonding strength of materials to each other, ease of use, adhesion without traces and stains, non-toxicity and safety.

Waterproof adhesive for fabric. It is usually a polyurethane-based contact adhesive that is suitable for textiles, leather, wood, rubber and rubberized materials. It is transparent and does not flow, sets quickly and does not stain, is not afraid of light, temperature and moisture. It has high adhesive power to hold different kinds of materials together. It is used on dense and well-stretched, transparent and natural fabrics.

Professional textile adhesives. They contain styrene-butadiene, which provides reliable and durable adhesion of fabrics to each other and to other materials - cork, wood, plywood, plastic, foam rubber, foam plastic, leather, and so on. It is expensive, it is used on an industrial scale - in ateliers, in textile and furniture production.

General purpose adhesives. Such products are available in small tubes with dispensers, they are necessary for the rapid repair of clothes, accessories, bags or for quickly gluing small fragments of fabric together. It is characterized by economical distribution, allows adjustments and is easy to use, after drying it becomes transparent and hard, resistant to water, chemicals and temperature extremes.

Adhesive fabric. It is a worthy alternative to glue. Such fabric is widely used in industrial and domestic conditions. It is very simple, as it is glued by ironing with a hot iron. As a lining, it makes the fabric heavier and thicker, providing the textile product with shape and rigidity. It is indispensable when sewing outerwear, for processing the edges of skirts and trousers, it is laid under collars, shelves and cuffs.

liquid thread. Such compositions are necessary in needlework when combining materials in order to stick appliqués, patches, decor, fringe and rhinestones on the fabric. The glue is accurately and evenly applied, allows you to firmly fasten surfaces without the need for a press, dries in seconds and does not damage the fabric. Acceptable for use on felt, felt and when working with coconut threads.

Adhesive aerosol. Transparent and applied in a thin layer, does not flow and does not stain, provides the possibility of repeated use, long-term storage. Aerosol glue is used for fixing patterns, basting and sewing in zippers. Shake the can before use, spread the glue from a distance of 20-30 cm from the surface.

Advice! To remove excess glue from the fabric, you can use acetone, alcohol, or refined gasoline. PVA glue is removed when washing the product, rubber is squeezed out from under the glued surfaces, after which it can be pry off and removed.

The easiest way to remove the adhesive is with a special cleaner, placing the fabric to be cleaned on a light-colored textile substrate with good absorbency. However, the harsh chemicals in the cleaner can stain or thin the fabric.

Glue for fabric - technique of use

The quality of adhesion largely depends on the correct use of the adhesive. It is necessary to first study the method of its use, familiarize yourself with the precautionary measures and operating conditions.

Adhesives with rubber in the composition usually require double-sided coating and a long drying time. If you need to glue the canvases of a large area, then they are usually pressed down with a load and left for several hours.

When working with perchlorovinyl adhesives, they are applied in two layers. The first is evenly distributed and left for a few minutes to solidify, then the second layer is distributed on top and only after that the necessary elements are fastened.

Nitrocellulose adhesives are distributed in one layer and glued immediately, only large products are placed under the load.

PVA glue treats both surfaces to be bonded. To increase strength, it is better to use a load. A popular expert glue is "PVA Construction".

Silicone glue in the rod is applied using a special heating gun, which allows you to distribute the composition with a thread or dotted. This glue is liquid, but does not flow, it quickly hardens, but for some time it allows you to adjust the position of the parts.

When fastening dense fabrics, a strong and waterproof composition is needed, which is distributed over the previously defatted surface of the fabric. For degreasing, acetone or gasoline is used, the glue is usually applied in two layers, the connection is fixed for a long time. Use of things is allowed only after a day.

To achieve a high-quality and reliable result, each adhesive requires the creation of certain conditions. Among the general requirements are distribution only on a clean surface and sufficient time for complete polymerization of the composition.

How to choose fabric glue

What glue to choose for fabric? The specific goals of the work predetermine the choice of a specific composition.

For quick and high-quality repair of tears and cuts, it is convenient to use second and universal adhesives. They instantly harden, are absorbed without excess and do not leave marks. The adhesive seam remains resistant to washing and ironing, deformation and wear.

To repair shoes outerwear or jeans, a universal composition is also suitable, transparent and instantly drying.

Sekunda glue is suitable for gluing natural fabrics: cotton, linen, silk, wool, as well as stretch knitted and thin synthetic materials.

Silicone glue in the rod is in demand in home needlework. It allows you to attach rhinestones, stones, beads, pearls and appliqués to the fabric, it can be used to fix accessories on clothes - buttons, jewelry and decor.

Adhesives for fabric in an aerosol allow you to apply the substance on the surface with the thinnest layer, avoiding deformation and marks. Its adhesiveness remains for a long time, allowing you to attach and remove the part several times.

Synthetic adhesives based on different types of rubbers have a common drawback - long term drying and the need for fixation. This is inconvenient, and the result is not durable enough.

Main selection criteria:

  1. Possibility of use for fabric.
  2. Safety, non-toxicity and high quality adhesive.
  3. Resistance to mechanical stress: creases, deformation, stretching.
  4. Inertness to various chemicals: washing powders, bleaches, stain removers.
  5. Color compatibility - better transparency.
  6. Resistance to temperature: rise and fall, differences.
  7. Water resistance: the glue should not be destroyed by washing, from sweat, in wet weather.
  8. Elastic and durable seam that does not disturb the structure of the bonded material.

Adhesives for fabrics with different compositions and in different forms, useful for a person in everyday life and needlework, indispensable for industrial and private use: the manufacture of furniture, clothing, shoes, accessories, for ateliers, sewing curtains and repair shops. In order to choose the right adhesive and achieve a good result, it is necessary to take into account its purpose, composition and main characteristics.

How to glue felt to felt so that it can be washed?

Manual labor is always individuality and a guarantee of exclusivity of a thing. Today, needlework is becoming more and more popular, and everyone embodies their fantasies as best they can. Most often, craftswomen take up sewing, and best material felt is used for this, or, as it is also called, felt.
In order for a product made from this fabric to be of high quality and to serve the owner for a long time, you should know how to glue felt to felt or other material. Of course, before that, it is useful for beginner needlewomen to understand the varieties and features of this material.

Felt Features

Today, felt is made from various materials which ultimately affects its use. The main property of this fabric is the ability to separate pieces of fabric. Felt is perfectly cut with scissors, forming smooth edges, and is also simply torn by hand, which allows you to create thin fluffy outlines of patches. What kind of glue to glue the felt depends solely on the further purpose of the product. For convenience, the material has both front sides, perfectly holds its shape, bends and is quite pleasant to the touch.

It is important to know that felt can be made from natural wool and synthetic materials. The latter fabrics will be looser, which makes them relevant only in the manufacture of clothing details, for example. In general, where you do not need to keep in shape.

Acrylic fabrics

Material of non-natural origin is made on the basis of polyester or acrylic. The thickness of the canvas and the density may be different in both cases.

Acrylic felt is characterized by a characteristic creak during bending and poor flexibility. At the same time, it is very cheap, and the choice of colors is simply amazing. It is when working with this type of fabric that the question most often arises of how to glue the part on felt, because due to its increased rigidity it is often used in the manufacture of various coasters, baskets or decoration of paintings and photographs.

Polyester felt

Polyester felt has absolutely identical strength properties, only this material is also characterized by softness. This synthetic material is very popular with needlewomen for its positive qualities:

  • does not shed;
  • does not wear out;
  • wide range of colors;
  • keeps the shape
  • affordable price;
  • pleasant to the touch.

Very common for making soft toys polyester felt is used. The explanation is also a slight transparency of the material, which is fully compensated by the imposition of several layers of fabric, which is exactly what is practiced in sewing various figures.

The most high-quality and popular among craftswomen is considered to be synthetic Korean felt made of polyester.

natural material

Interestingly, felt made of pure wool or wool mixture is in little demand among needlewomen. In this case, you can glue felt to felt in any way. But what did this type of fabric not please the craftswomen? The main reasons are:

  • high cost of fabric;
  • a small selection of colors;
  • shrinks when washed;
  • can be rubbed to holes;
  • often a large number of "pellets" appear;
  • great thickness.

It is very difficult to sew several layers of such material with ordinary threads, but due to the fact that it keeps its shape perfectly, it is often used to make flowers from felt. What can be used to glue the fabric in this case is described in detail below.

By the way, if at the time of purchase on the product label it is indicated that the felt is made of wool, this fabric can contain it only in a certain amount and, in fact, be half-woolen. The rest of the material of manufacture is always synthetic. It is this combination of natural and artificial that is considered ideal for sewing various products, since the final product always combines all the positive qualities of wool and synthetic.

compromise solution

Semi-woolen felt is very soft, easily takes the desired shape, holds it well and is available in specialized stores in a huge color palette. Among the advantages, there is also a low price, of course, when compared with completely natural felt.

Among the disadvantages of the fabric is the noticeable appearance of folds after wrinkling, but only in products very big size. Small details always quickly return to their original shape. To give the material maximum rigidity, it can be treated with a special compound. By the way, the fabric has the property of "fluff".

Viscose felt

This variety should be considered separately, since its characteristics combine many qualities of all the fabrics listed above. It is he who is most often used for applications on clothes and toys, so when working with him, the question arises of how to glue felt to felt. Instructions for this are below.

The fabric explains its popularity with its unique ability to pass air and at the same time absorb moisture. Such characteristics make the material ideal for decorating wardrobe items.
In addition, felt is pleasant to the touch, plastic and durable, but prone to wrinkles, which needlewomen should take into account.

So, after the ideal type of material for working on a particular work of creativity has been chosen, one should proceed to the answer to the main question.

For high-quality performance of applications from fabric, in particular, felt, needlewomen can use many improvised and specialized tools. Of course, not every glue is able to securely fasten the parts, so you should take care of acquiring the necessary tools before starting work.

So, how can you glue felt to felt? Initially, PVA glue was often used for this, since it could be purchased almost everywhere and at a low cost. With the growing popularity of this type of needlework, specialized textile adhesives also appeared on sale. Also, for reliable fastening of felt parts, hot glue with a gun or some varieties of “Moment” are often used. Each tool should be considered in more detail.

In this case, the novice craftswoman needs to know that it is impossible to use the usual clerical variety of this tool to connect fabric parts. Will not glue felt and similar wallpaper PVA. Is it possible to glue felt with PVA glue at all? The answer is yes, but for effectiveness, only a product with a certain marking “M” or “MB” should be used. Such compositions are considered universal and can be used when connecting fabric parts, however, after washing they can easily come apart.

glue gun

If the question of how to glue felt to felt so that it can be washed is as acute as possible, and in the future the product will be used often, then the needlewoman is recommended to pay attention to hot melt adhesive. It is applied using a special gun that melts the stick with glue and allows you to control its application to the parts. This tool has found its application in many areas, even in repairs.

Cured glue sticks are available in stores with various options. When buying, it is important to pay attention to the fact that its melting point is not higher than that indicated by the maximum in the gun itself. The rods can melt at 100-150 degrees.

Before gluing the felt to the felt, you should also pay attention to the color of the pistol rod itself. Craftswomen are offered special multi-colored compositions so that the connecting elements do not stand out against the general background. Such rods must necessarily be opaque. If the adhesive in the solid state has at least a slightly translucent structure, then its composition will already indicate a certain marking. In this case, to connect felt parts, it is better to purchase universal, completely transparent rods. After hardening on the product, such glue will acquire a translucent film.

Pistol selection

To make work bring only pleasure, you need to choose the right tools for it. glue gun is a mains powered electrical appliance that heats the glue sticks inside. The liquid agent flows out of the “muzzle” of the device when a special trigger is pressed. To work with felt, it is best to purchase guns with a working rod diameter of 7-8 mm, this will be enough.

The possible length of the rod is also a parameter for choice, and the time of uninterrupted work on your product depends on it, because you may often have to be distracted to replace the rods.

When buying a tool, you should pay attention to its maximum operating temperature. For standard rods, it is enough to increase the temperature to 105 degrees, but the higher the temperature, the faster the rate of its melting and all work, respectively.

And, of course, convenience. For maximum comfort during operation, devices with a trigger should be used. Its mechanism can be slider or rotary (they are most common).

Specialized funds

With the growing interest in needlework in specialized stores, new tools began to appear that facilitate the manual work of many craftswomen. Among them are specialized textile adhesives. They do not contain toxic substances at all, do not leave marks on fabrics and are great for gluing small parts thanks to the convenient vial dispenser. The disadvantage of such compositions is that they are easily washed off with water, which means that things made with their help simply cannot be washed.

How to glue felt to felt so that the product can eventually be safely washed? To do this, you can use such a variety of the popular universal glue as "Moment Crystal". This remedy It is toxic and should only be used in ventilated areas with extreme caution. The glue itself is quite liquid, all actions must be carried out as carefully as possible. Otherwise, it does an excellent job of connecting the felt together.

For maximum results, apply the agent along the contour of the part, wait a bit until the glue brightens and apply another layer on top, and then fix the part in the right place.

Work rules

When choosing any means, before gluing felt to felt, you should carefully prepare the material. PVA glue must first be mixed, when working with a gun, check its technical condition, and when connecting parts using the “Moment”, open a window for ventilation. In any case, before starting to glue the “finishing” parts, you should check the properties of the glue on unnecessary patches.

It is important to apply any glue sparingly so that its liquid structure cannot completely saturate the fabric. Otherwise, traces of glue will appear on front side details. If this nevertheless happened, then the situation can be corrected by re-imposing a duplicate on the damaged fabric. It is important to glue the second layer of fabric only along the contour of the part.

Why you can not use PVA glue

Many people make the mistake of using PVA glue for crafts and other felt work. Only PVA-MB (universal) and PVA-M (super) are suitable for this.

Household glue PVA for wallpaper and PVA-K (stationery) are used to work with cardboard and paper. If they are applied to felt, then, after drying, traces of yellow color will remain.

It is better to avoid using this type of glue altogether, as its white or yellowish mass is very thick and has lumps.

Instructions - we glue the felt without leaving marks in handmade crafts

You can glue felt to felt and other materials with both the above-mentioned types of glue and silicone. But in the second case, you need a thermal gun.

Silicone bonding

This way of working with felt is very convenient, it will save time and allow you to achieve a strong connection. The glue gun is an electric tool for hot melt adhesive.

To work with it you need:

  • Insert silicone rod;
  • Plug in the heat gun;
  • Wait until the rod starts to melt;
  • Pull the trigger and squeeze out the required amount of glue;
  • Upon completion of gluing, unplug the device from the socket;
  • Wipe off any adhesive residue on the nozzle with paper.

You need to get used to the thermal gun - you need to work with it very quickly, because the glue instantly hardens, after which it will be quite problematic to remove it from the felt. The advantage of buying a tool is that it will come in handy not only for fastening tissues, but also in the repair process.

Bonding with ordinary glue

Apply any glue very carefully, sparingly, so that the felt does not soak and get wet.

  • The surface to be bonded must be dry;
  • Apply glue in a thin and even layer on both surfaces;
  • Hold for 5-10 minutes, then press firmly for 1-2 seconds. What matters here is the strength, not the duration of the compression;
  • If the glue has soaked out, glue a duplicate over the damaged area, applying glue along the contour of the area to be glued.

Each glue can be removed from felt in several ways:

  • PVA. It is easy to remove it with warm water or a cloth soaked in alcohol or vinegar;
  • Stationery or silicate glue. Easy to remove cold water, diluted with soap and one teaspoon of soda;
  • Clay Moment. Fresh residues can be removed with a rag soaked in gasoline. Dried glue can only be removed with solvents or special tools, such as "Super Moment Anti-Clay";
  • silicone adhesive. Put the item in the freezer and wait for the hot melt adhesive to freeze. When exposed to cold, it becomes brittle, after which it can be removed with a spoon or a dull knife. He may fall off on his own. Acetone is also good at removing hot melt residue. Dissolved under the influence of this substance, the glue can be wiped with a clean cloth.

Important rule

Whenever you are going to start making crafts from felt and gluing it, first check the effect of the glue on a piece of fabric you do not need.

Hello our dear readers!
Today we will tell you about the amazing material for creativity. It's felt!
Soft, cozy, pliable and obedient in the hands, it is a huge scope for the realization of creative ideas.

More recently, not just felt, but glue-based felt appeared in our store. These are additional opportunities for the implementation of new interesting ideas.
We have prepared a small master class for you, where we tried to show one of the options for using this material using the example of such an application bird:

For this we need:

  • Violet (1 mm)
  • glue-based black felt (1 mm), you can use scraps left over from other crafts
  • scissors
  • decorative eyes for toys (you can do it yourself, or use beads, buttons)
  • bird pattern (body and wing)
  • decorative elements for decoration (beads, rhinestones, three-dimensional stickers, etc.)
We will make the body from ordinary purple felt. We put the part on the base, fix it with pins and cut it out.

We make a wing from fuchsia-colored felt on an adhesive basis. Thanks to this basis, it is a pleasure to transfer the pattern to felt, since this basis is paper. So, turn the felt paper base up and circle the detail with a simple pencil. Do not forget that in this case the pattern part will also need to be turned over. Cut out.

We have the following details:

We remove the paper layer from the wing part, freeing the adhesive layer and put it on the body of the bird.

Here's what we got.

Now it remains to glue the eye, stick the legs of the bird and the corner of the nose, cut out from the remnants of glue-based black felt, and decorate the bird with decorative elements as you like.
Our beauty is ready!

Such simple applications will be performed by both children and adults with great pleasure! And the range of application of felt applications is very wide. They can decorate a postcard and a scrap page, a candlestick and a lampshade, Christmas tree toy and bag, and much more.
Our story about felt does not end there. In the near future we will publish new master classes using this wonderful material.

For the cutest felt art! In our catalog you will find hard Korean felt 1.2 mm thick. 100% polyester! All needlewomen who love to create something new and beautiful will definitely appreciate it.

WHY CHOOSE KOREAN FELT?

This material is very dense, but not thick. Therefore, it is very convenient to work with him.
In addition, it has a number of advantages:
Does not tear due to its density
Doesn't shed
It does not appear spools
Carefully hand washed looks like new
Amenable not only to hand sewing, but also to machine sewing

In Korea, hard felt is especially popular as a material for children's toys and crafts. And indeed, he is perfect for this. From dense felt, reliable, well-kept toys are obtained. At the same time, do not break it. And if the baby hits someone with his doll, it's okay - the material is soft and will not hurt. Do you want the toy to be softer and more voluminous? Just add more padding. For active kids preschool age these things are irreplaceable!

WHY HARD AND NOT WOOL FELT?

Of course, woolen and semi-woolen felt is softer, it is very pleasant to the touch. But this gentleness is not always best quality. After all, the form and appearance products will not last long. Although such material is often used for interior toys and other accessories.

WHY KOREAN AND NOT CHINESE HARD FELT?

The quality of Korean felt is definitely good, there are not many surprises waiting for you here. But Chinese is a different matter. Having opened the set, you can see cuts of different density and thickness. Moreover, the material may be prickly. Of course, you can also make a good toy out of it. And the price of Chinese, of course, is quite low. But, if you want reliability and quality, buy Korean is better.

WHY NOT FELT (POLYESTER) FROM OTHER MANUFACTURERS?

Japanese and American manufacturers have very soft felt. And it has all the disadvantages associated with this quality:

Easy to stretch
Twisting and rolling
Not practical. It is unlikely that it will be possible to sew the same reliable and durable toys from it as from Korean. After all, he will keep his shape badly. Although you can make a decoration out of it, an accessory that will simply please the eye.

WHY NOT ACRYLIC FELT?

If you like more natural, "warm" materials, you are unlikely to like this felt. This is a solid synthetic, unpleasant to the touch.

WHAT TOOLS ARE SUITABLE FOR WORKING WITH FELT?

Crystal "s offers you not only the best felt, but also a description of how to work with it. Do you want to work with this material, but you don't know where to start? First you need to decide on the tools.

There are many different tools available for working with hard felt. Usually, needlewomen have to deal with the fact that this dense material requires a special attitude towards itself. Not all scissors can handle it. So let's explore each option:

1. REGULAR STRAIGHT SCISSORS - the first indispensable tool. Suitable cutting and high-quality stationery. Remember that they should not be the cheapest - otherwise they may not withstand the resistance of hard material. The needlewoman determines the size of the scissors herself. It depends on how it is convenient for her to work, what details she cuts out. Long cutting blades are suitable for big patterns. And stationery - if you need to cut out small details. The main thing to pay attention to:

    The quality of the scissors. They must be reliable.

    Comfort. The tool should fit comfortably in your hand.

    Sharpening. Let the bevels of the blades be well sharpened.

These scissors can be purchased at any fabric or office supply store. Remember that in the first place you choose a tool for yourself. Therefore, stop at the most convenient option for you.

2. SMALL SCISSORS WITH THIN SHARP BLADES. They are great for working with felt, which you can buy at Crystal's. These scissors are sometimes called embroidery scissors. They look almost like nail scissors, but the tips are straight, not rounded. Complex contours, small details, patterns - all this can be created with such a tool.

3. FIGURED SCISSORS, OR "COOKIES". There are many varieties of such scissors, and you can buy them anywhere. Their blades can be zigzag, wave, or scalloped. All this has long been used by skilled craftswomen in the most different types needlework. However, be careful - not all of them are suitable for felt.

If you often work with heavy fabrics and want the best results, purchase a tool from a craft or fabric store. It will be specifically designed specifically for working with fabric, felt. And this means that it will cope well with the load and cut out everything you need very neatly and evenly. But do not rely on scissors purchased at the stationery store. First of all, they are designed to work with paper. And this means that the blades can be unreliable. Perhaps if you come across good ones, they will work faithfully even with hard felt. However, you may also encounter those that will not cut even 1 mm thick material. Of course, special scissors will cost more, but they will be reliable.

4. ROLLER KNIFE. Perhaps one of the best options. Scissors can cut the felt unevenly, leaving an untidy edge. This problem can become especially serious if you work with thick felt. A roller knife is able to cope not only with thin, but also with fairly thick material. The result will be much more accurate than when working with scissors.

HOW TO CUT FELT?

There is no single cutting method. After all, felt is a very obedient material. It does not need to be held in place with dozens of pins precisely because it is dense. Each needlewoman chooses the method that she likes the most. For example:

    With pins. Again, you don't need too many. The pins will hold tight pieces of material in place well.

    With tape. This method also works, it is quite convenient. However, it should be remembered that the felt can be damaged by tape. After all, fibers will be removed from the surface of the material. And this will make him look somewhat untidy, disheveled. On the other hand, after frequent use, the product may still be slightly frayed. Scotch tape will help out if, for some reason, pins cannot be used. For example, if there are small children nearby who can grab a pin and prick themselves.

HOW TO DRAW A PATTERN ON HARD FET RE?

You can translate the pattern or immediately draw it on the material. With felt, this can be done in different ways:

    SELF DISAPPEARING MARKER. This is a common handicraft tool. They can simply draw whatever you want on the felt. Even very small details. But do not forget that the lines may disappear. Another option is a marker that can be washed off with water. Keep in mind that there are special usage rules for them. Examine them carefully so as not to wash off the lines ahead of time or accidentally fix them permanently.

    GEL PEN. She writes well and clearly, not only on paper. However, the ink may not be washed off.

    TAILOR'S CHALK OR SOAP. Classic way which has its own advantages. Of course, chalk and soap should only be used for simple details. Their advantage is that they do not need to draw an outline. It is enough just to lead the crayon along the edge of the pattern, and the line will not go beyond. For example, with a marker and a pen, you need to be careful. The contour will turn out clear, it can be cut out without problems. In addition, chalk is very easy to remove from felt. But if the pattern is full of complex small details, chalk and remnants will no longer help out.

As you can see, it is better to adopt several ways to translate the pattern. What works well in one situation may not work at all in another. Therefore, it is better to have chalk, a marker, and a pen on hand.

HOW TO JOIN THE FELTS?

There are many ways to connect felt parts. And stitching with threads is just one of them. Indeed, it is very convenient to work with the dense material that Crystal's online store offers you. Here are the most common ways:

1. SEWING. A variety of threads are suitable for this. It all depends on what you like to work with more:

    Polyester is a very common type. Good for working with felt. You can take one thread or fold it to get a stronger one if the material is thick.

    Iris. Also harmoniously combined with felt. They are even, smooth, do not shed and are very easy to use. Perfectly complement the product with its neat look.

    Woolen. Finishing with such threads will look very beautiful.

Remember a few tricks that will help you work with any thread. First, fold them several times when working with thick felt. Secondly, try not only to match the shade of the thread to the color of the material, but play with contrasts. It will look great on jewelry.
For threads, special tapestry needles with a large eye are suitable.

2. GLUING. Needlewomen advise several types of glue that can hold felt parts:

    "Moment-Crystal". It is suitable for this task due to its transparency and the ability to tightly fix any material.

    PVA and glue stick. Some cut parts can be connected with their help, but it is better to choose something more reliable.

    Glue gun. Silicone glue can do the job just fine. The main thing is to work quickly - it dries very quickly. It is better to apply glue not to the entire part at once, but gradually, connecting 4-5 cm at a time.

    Double-sided tape. It can also give results. There is stationery and construction tape. Glue last carpets, tiles, etc. It's great if you want to use felt around a book or other hard surface item.

HOW TO CARE FOR FINISHED FELTS?

Felt requires special care, and there are several ways to take care of it.

1.DRY CLEANING. If you need to refresh the look of the product, just go over it with a soft dry brush. And a large thing can be vacuumed using a nozzle convenient for this.

2. WIPE WITH A WET SPONGE, fiber glove, cloth. Wet cleaning should be done carefully and only if the pollution is strong enough. You can use not just water, but a cleaner for carpets, wool, etc.

3.WASH BY HAND OR IN THE WASHING MACHINE. When trusting the item to the machine, make sure that the delicate wash mode is selected. The water temperature should not exceed 40°C, no matter how you wash. To dry, lay the item on a smooth horizontal surface. It is better not to wring it out, or do it very carefully. Otherwise, the product may lose its shape. If this happens, you can steam the thing with an iron through an iron without touching its surface.

Remember that before washing, you must definitely find out how the parts of the felt thing are connected. After all, the glued parts can come off when wet.

Crystal "s offers every needlewoman high-quality and reliable felt. If you still do not know how to work with this material, high-quality felt will help you learn quickly and with pleasure. And if you are already a master of this craft, you will create many amazing things with it.

2.2. Polychloroprene (neoprene) adhesives for flexible, elastic adhesive seam with long molecular chains designed specifically for shoes ( "Nairit", "Shoe Nairit", "Shoemaker", "Leather").

"Nairit" is a special type of neoprene rubber with long molecular chains, specially developed back in Soviet times in Armenia*. This brand of rubber was given the name "Nairit". Now "nairite" refers to all adhesives made on the basis of nairite rubber, i.e. rubber with long molecular chains. When these molecules are connected, the seam remains flexible, which is very good in the manufacture and repair of shoes. If you take glue "88" - it has a very hard glue line. And in "Nairit" the seam is soft, elastic, flexible, it does not tear under loads, vibrations, it retains gluing. Shoes are perfect! On our website you can buy a kind of glue "Nairit" - "Shoe Nairit".

* "Nairit" plant − one of the oldest chemical enterprises in Armenia. "Nairit", as a plant of synthetic rubbers "Glavkauchuk" named after. CM. Kirov, was established in 1936. The enterprise produced a chemical composition demanded by the national economy - calcium carbide. Since 1940, the plant has become a monopoly producer of chloroprene rubber. Until the end of the 80s, the plant occupied 10-12% of the world synthetic rubber market.

"Shoe marathon moment" designed for gluing shoes and shoe materials made of rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, leather, leather substitutes, fabric, felt, cork, plastic in various combinations.

"Shoemaker"special shoe glue based on nairite rubber. Designed to connect the upper parts of shoes made of natural and synthetic leather with rubber and leather soles, as well as to connect shoe elements made of artificial leather, plastic leather, textile materials. It is also used when gluing coverings, linings, gluing insoles, reinforcing elements of shoes.

"Leather" – glue of increased elasticity and heat resistance for highly absorbent materials. For the manufacture and repair of products made of natural and artificial leather, shoe uppers, fabrics, felt, synthetic materials, for attaching unshaped soles to shoe uppers.

Glue "Professional" Shoes-Leather-Rubber used for repairing shoe uppers, natural and artificial leather, rubber, fabrics, as well as repairing inflatable boats made of rubberized fabric.

Glue "Sprinter" is a universal fast-setting elastic adhesive for repairing shoes, including soles, leather, suede, nubuck, fur, polyurethane, PVC, rubber, fabrics. Can be used to bond any combination of rubber, leather, textiles, wood, metal, glass, wall tiles, ceramics and porcelain.

3. rubber adhesive is a solution of synthetic rubber in gasoline. Previously, only natural natural rubber, extracted from the sap of the South American hevea tree, was used to make this glue, but now its synthetic counterparts are used.

Rubber adhesives that you can buy on our website - "Rubber" and "Latka"- used for gluing products that do not experience heavy loads.

"Rubber" glue- this is an inexpensive adhesive for non-critical joints. It is used for gluing rubber products that do not experience heavy loads. "Rubber" glue is very popular with leather workers: details leather jackets and other products before stitching are first baited with rubber glue, and then stitched. It is elastic and can be easily torn. Residues of glue from the material are removed simply with gasoline.

Glue "Latka" for bicycle patches, it is used to “bait” the patches, which then still need to be vulcanized.

Also, rubber adhesives are used for gluing products made of cardboard, paper, photographs.

Gluing method these three groups are almost the same. Before gluing, almost any surface to be bonded must be sanded and degreased. First you need to apply glue, wait until the solvent has evaporated so that only the rubber layer remains, and then press the surfaces to be glued and hold for some time under load.

Mode of application:

Apply an even layer of glue to the cleaned and degreased surface, dry until the stickiness disappears completely.

For responsible gluing, it is recommended to apply a second layer of glue after 10-15 minutes. after the first, also dry. The strength of the joint will increase by 1.5–2 times if the 2nd layer is heated to t ° \u003d 50–60 ° C.

Press firmly for 30 seconds. The decisive factor is the force, not the duration of the pressure. The product can be used after 1 hour. Final strength is achieved after 24 hours.

For polychloroprene adhesives, it is recommended to apply as much pressure as possible to the parts to be bonded. This is due to the fact that these adhesives are based on short molecules, and the stronger the mechanical effect on the surface being glued, the better these molecules adhere to each other, i.e. better adhesion. There is also a recommendation - heat the seam, or thermally activate it. This is also done to improve the adhesion of the surfaces to be bonded.

In the composition of adhesiveswhich you can buy on our website, substances harmful to the body are not included, called precursors, which is confirmed by the certificates of adhesive manufacturers. At the request of wholesale buyers, we enclose a photocopy of these certificates in the product packaging.

4. Cyanoacrylate adhesives, or "super glues"

Cyanoacrylate is an organic substance whose molecules have the ability to very quickly combine with each other (polymerize). Super glues, or cyanoacrylate glues, cure within 1-2 minutes and provide a very strong bond.

Cyanoacrylate polymerizes under the influence of moisture, which is in the air. Therefore, if you want the glue to harden faster and the air is very dry, it is recommended to breathe on the gluing site.

Also, cyanoacrylate-based adhesive polymerizes rapidly under pressure. If, for example, cyanoacrylate glue is dropped on any surface, then the drop will remain liquid for a long time.

General instructions for use cyanoacrylate adhesives:

1. The surfaces to be bonded must be dry and clean. If necessary, clean from paint, dust, degrease.

2. Apply glue to one of the surfaces to be glued.

3. Press the surfaces firmly and hold for 1-2 minutes.

Colorcyanoacrylate adhesives - transparent.

Super adhesives are suitable for bonding a wide variety of materials: metals, ceramics, porcelain, glass, precious stones, rubber, rubber, most plastics, elastomers, cardboard, paper, porous materials, PVC. Used for gluing any wooden materials. Suitable for MDF, chipboard, wood, plywood. They are used in the manufacture and repair of furniture.

By consistency super glues, which you will find on our website, can be divided into 2 groups:

Ordinary, liquid cyanoacrylate adhesives

"Super Moment", "Akfix 702", "Elephant",

"505", "Cyanopan E", "Cyanopan ME",

"Alteco 110", "Retainer 505"

· Super glues - " gel", "slow", thick cyanoacrylate adhesives. They do not spread, do not absorb as quickly as conventional super glues, they are convenient to apply on vertical, uneven, porous surfaces.

"Akfix 705", "Akfix 705 with activator",

"Super Moment Gel", "Alteco Gel", "Fixator Gel"

Special precautions must be taken when working with these adhesives. precautionary measures:

1. If in the process of working with glue your fingers accidentally stuck together - do not try to break them! Carefully and slowly separate them with a round object (such as a pen). After a while, the sebum itself will reject the remnants of the glue.

2. If the glue gets into your eyes, you need to immediately rinse them large quantity water and see a doctor. If glue gets inside, make sure that the airways are clear. Cyanoacrylate polymerizes (hardens) instantly in the mouth, making it nearly impossible to swallow. Saliva will gradually separate all the solid product.

4. Keep glue out of the reach of children!

5. Epoxy adhesives

On our site you can find two-component epoxy adhesives that create a super-strong, hard surface that does not shrink or deform after curing. After hardening, it can be drilled, sharpened. Adhesives are waterproof, non-flammable.

Glue metal, plastic, rubber, wood, ceramics, glass, crystals, stones and jewelry (bijouterie).
