Today we offer you interesting master class on the manufacture of DIY snowman crafts from various materials.

paper snowman craft

You can make a cute paper snowman with your child preschool age. To do this, you need paper (preferably for quilling), cotton wool, tweezers, a sheet of cardboard and glue.

  1. We cut white paper into thin strips of the same width. We twist two large rolls from these strips: the head and the body. To make the rolls large, you will need up to 10 strips, each new strip should be glued to the workpiece with glue. Glue two rolls together.
  2. In order to make a hat for a snowman, we twist a large roll of multi-colored stripes, then give the roll the shape of a hat, arching it with your finger. We glue a hat inside for reliability.
  3. On a wide strip yellow color we cut the fringe and twist it in the form of a bubo. Glue the bubo and cap together.
  4. We twist the nose from a small strip of red color, glue the eyes made of two beads. The paper snowman is ready!

Craft snowman from threads

Children's crafts of a snowman made of thread will decorate any New Year's celebration. From a minimum of materials, it turns out simply unusually beautiful and original craft. To get started, take 5 balloons, PVA glue in a plastic package and a large needle. We pierce the bottle of glue with a needle and thread so that the thread with which you will subsequently wrap the balls is in the glue. We inflate Balloons: three for the torso and two small ones for the arms. We wrap each ball with threads like balls. Let the balls dry overnight. Then we pierce the balls inside our balls with a needle and take them out. We connect our balls with glue, the sides that will be adjacent to each other can be slightly flattened. From colored paper we make a snowman's nose, eyes and decorate with accessories. Our snowman is ready!

Craft a snowman from cotton wool

A cotton snowman craft can be made as a Christmas tree souvenir or a small gift. We take a piece of cotton wool and with soapy hands we roll two balls of different diameters out of it: for the head and torso. We give our balls to dry, and at this time we dilute PVA glue with water in the proportions: 1 part of water and 2 parts of glue. Glitter can be added to the glue. Lubricate our lumps with glue and let them dry. To make a carrot for the nose, you need to wrap cotton wool tightly around a toothpick, grease it with a thin layer of glue, remove it and paint it in Orange color. We connect the torso and head with a toothpick, previously dipped in glue. We glue eyes to the snowman, insert our hands and decorate the resulting craft with accessories.

Craft snowman from plastic cups

In order to make a snowman craft as tall as a preschool child, you need to stock up on free time, a modicum of patience and invite a cheerful little helper. Precook 300 plastic cups the same shape and a stapler with a full pack of #10 staples. When choosing cups, pay attention to the fact that the narrower the rim of the cup, the better they fit.

Necessary materials:

  • socks (one of them must be white);

  • scissors;

  • thread, thin elastic band or rope;

  • cereals;

  • buttons different colors and sizes;

  • black beads for eyes;

  • orange marker;

  • pieces of fabric of different colors and textures, ribbons, buttons and other decorative ornaments.

Manufacturing:

First you need to make the basis for the snowman from a white long sock. Take a sock and cut it in half at the heel. We turn the upper half of the sock to the wrong side and pull the cut with an elastic band or thread, after which we turn the sock back to front side.

As a result, we got a kind of bag that needs to be filled with cereals to the very top. Any cereal can act as a filler, but rice or semolina are best suited for these purposes - they will not stand out through the sock. If desired, an aromatic mixture can be added inside the New Year's crafts. We also tightly tie the top of the sock with a thread, twine or a thin elastic band.

In the resulting workpiece, we visually determine the middle, measure from it about 1 cm upwards and again bandage this place. The basis for the snowman from the head and torso is ready.

The next step is to decorate the snowman's face. Sew black beads in place of the eyes. We make the nose from a bead or half of a toothpick, painted orange.

The remaining half of the white sock can be used to make a hat. Cut off the heel area and turn the sock inside out. Carefully tuck the sock along the cut line and put it on the snowman's head. If desired, a hat for a winter character can be made from a colored sock.

Now it remains only to decorate the finished snowman. To do this, we make a scarf from patches of multi-colored fabric, sew on buttons. Decorate Christmas decoration you can use any materials at hand: figures cut out of fabric or shiny paper (hearts, stars, flowers, etc.), sequins, beads or sparkles.

A snowman made can be put on a shelf or decorated with it Christmas tree. Alternatively, such a snowman can be presented as a souvenir for the New Year or relatives.

Snowman from plastic cups

Necessary materials:

  • disposable plastic cups 3 packs of 100 pcs.;

  • glue;

  • stapler;

  • bright scarf;

  • a cap;

  • orange paper;

  • dark fabric to create eyes and buttons.

Manufacturing:

To create a snowman, you need to make two large balls from white disposable cups. First, let's start making the body. To do this, lay out plastic cups in a circle in the amount of 25 pieces and fasten them together with a stapler.

We spread the second layer between the glasses of the first row, while shifting them slightly inside the ball. Following this technology, we will get a hemisphere, which will give the structure stability. For the second row, the same number of disposable cups is required, and for all subsequent layers, one less. The resulting workpiece should be left open, as another ball will be installed on it.

The head for a snowman is made according to the same principle as the body, only the ball should be smaller. To create the first row, you need 18 plastic cups.

When the small ball is ready, we install it on the large one, fastening them together with a stapler.

It remains only to decorate the snowman. Eyes and buttons can be made from pieces of dark fabric by simply placing them inside the glasses. We cut out the nose imitating a carrot from orange paper, and the mouth from red paper. We tie a bright scarf or tinsel around the snowman's neck. Inside the structure, you can put a Christmas tree garland or a floor disco ball to create a bright illumination.

pom pom snowman

Necessary materials:

  • white woolen or synthetic threads;

  • cardboard;

  • compass;

  • scissors;

  • glue;

  • orange and black felt.

Manufacturing:

First, we make rings from cardboard, which will be required to create pompoms. To make the body of a snowman, we cut out two circles of the same size (the diameter of the outer circle is 6 cm, the diameter of the inner circle is 3 cm). To make a blank for the second pom-pom, we cut out two more circles of smaller sizes (the diameter of the outer circle is 4 cm, the diameter of the inner circle is 2 cm).

Woolen threads of white color, folded 4-8 times, cut into 2 m long. We connect two cardboard rings of the same size together. Then we begin to tightly wrap the ring with woolen threads.

The ring should be wrapped with threads until the hole closes. For convenience, you can use a crochet hook to pull the threads through the hole. The thicker the winding layer on the ring, the more magnificent the pompom will turn out.

Next, cut the threads with scissors or a clerical knife along the outer edge of the ring. Then we slightly move the rings apart and tightly tie the threads. We remove the rings and fluff the pompom, after which we trim the shape with scissors. We follow the same procedure to create a smaller pom-pom.

When the main parts for the snowman are ready, we connect them together by simply tying the threads from the pompoms.

We make a hat for a snowman from black felt fabric. First, cut out a circle with a diameter of 6 cm and cut off from it ¼ part from the center. Lubricate the cut lines with glue and connect the edges.

We make a nose for a snowman from orange felt. Cut out ¼ of the circle with a diameter of 4 cm, turn it into a cone and glue the edges.

We cut out the eyes and buttons in the form of small circles from black felt. A scarf for a snowman can be made from felt fabric of any bright color. To do this, cut out a strip 20 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. We make a fringe at the ends of the strip.

To give the pompom snowman stability, glue it to the base cut out of thick cardboard.

Light bulb snowman

Necessary materials:

  • burned out light bulb;

  • White paint;

  • tassel;

  • scissors;

  • orange paper;

  • markers;

  • glue;

  • shreds of bright fabric.

Manufacturing:

We paint an unnecessary burnt out light bulb of a standard shape with white or light blue paint. If necessary, apply a second coat of paint. If desired, the surface of the light bulb can be additionally covered with a layer of sparkles. When the light bulb dries, proceed to the design New Year's toys. From a piece of brightly colored fabric, cut out a small strip that will serve as a scarf for the snowman. Cut the ends of the strip with noodles. We glue the finished scarf to the light bulb in the place where the wide part ends and the narrow one begins. Using a dark marker or felt-tip pen, draw the hands and face of the snowman. We cut out the nose in the form of a carrot from orange or red paper. A snowman made from a light bulb, made with your own hands, will be a wonderful decoration for the New Year tree.

Snowman from threads

Necessary materials:

  • thick white threads;

  • PVA glue;

  • 5 balloons;

  • needle;

  • petrolatum;

  • decorative materials (half of a kinder surprise, scraps of fabric, beads, colored paper, buttons, etc.).

Manufacturing:

We inflate balloons - three balloons of different sizes for the torso and two balloons of the same size for the snowman's arms. We put a layer of Vaseline on the balls so that in the future it will be easier to remove them from the blanks. We pierce the package with glue through the bottom part - this will allow the threads to be evenly coated with glue. We wind the threads lubricated in glue on the balls in a chaotic manner so that there are gaps that will give the product delicacy and lightness.

We leave the blanks to dry for a day, the glue should harden well. After that, we pierce the balloons with a needle and remove them through the holes in the workpiece.

Now you need to connect the resulting balls of thread to each other. We squeeze the largest ball slightly on one side and glue a smaller workpiece to this place. We do a similar procedure with a small ball. We glue blanks for handles on the sides of the middle ball.

The snowman made of threads is ready, it remains only to decorate the New Year's craft, giving it a finished look. From any materials at hand, we make a snowman a scarf (from bright fabric or Christmas tree tinsel), a carrot nose (from colored paper or fabric), a hat (from fabric or halves of a kinder surprise), eyes and a nose (from colored paper or fabric).

A snowman made of threads will be an excellent decoration for a festive interior, it can be placed on a windowsill, on a shelf or placed next to a Christmas tree.

What New Year is complete without souvenirs and toys? It's nice to buy them, give them, decorate your house with them, and even more pleasant to make them yourself. We already know many ways to create a Christmas tree with our own hands, we know how to make Christmas tree cones and sew New Year's boots, and today we will learn more about how snowmen are made with our own hands!

Before you make a snowman with your own hands, stock up on materials (the size of the finished snowmen is 25 cm):

  • White terry cloth
  • Light green or green terry cloth
  • Fleece in any color
  • Holofiber or other filler
  • black beads
  • glue
  • Threads
  • Needle
  • Pins

We sew a snowman

snowman body

Do-it-yourself fabric snowman is made from three balls of different diameters.

In turn, each ball is made of six wedges. To do this, take a white terry cloth and fold it in half. Next, we outline the wedges in such a way that we get three parts of each size. There must be a small distance between the parts.

The size of the wedges is determined diagonally and is equal to:

  • 10.5 cm
  • 8.5 cm
  • 7.5 cm

We add three parts of each size, fasten with pins and sew on a typewriter.

We twist and stuff them with holofiber. We get beautiful round balls for making snowmen with our own hands.

We sew a spout

We turn to the manufacture of the nose. It is made from orange fabric. To do this, it must be folded in half and outline a triangle, then sewn on a typewriter or manually, turned out and stuffed with filler.

With a hidden seam, the nose is attached to the snowman's head.

Sew on the eyes

Making arms and legs

The legs and arms of the snowman are made from white terry cloth using a paper template.

We sew, turn inside out, fill with filler, sew up the hole with a blind seam.

snowman handles

snowman legs

In order to attach arms to the body of a snowman, we use a thread method.

The snowman is ready!

snowman clothes

We sew a hat

Let's dress up our snowman in a hat, which is made of fleece. To do this, a rectangle measuring 21 * 15 centimeters is cut out, folded in half and sewn.

On one side of the workpiece, cut off the edge with scissors in the form of a zigzag:

And on the other hand, with the same scissors, we cut strips in the form of a fringe.

We put a hat on a snowman, tucking at the base of the head. We collect the fringe at the crown in a bundle and tie with a small piece of fleece.

We glue the edges of the cap.

Making a scarf

We tie it on a snowman and proceed to the manufacture of mittens.

snowman gloves

To do this, again take a strip of fleece, fold in half, sew and turn inside out. We make a cut along the edge with a zigzag.

Herringbone fabric

The final step is to make a Christmas tree from light green terry cloth. To do this, we outline a triangle measuring 17 * 16 centimeters.

We fold it in half, stitch it, not forgetting to leave a hole for the filler.

Master class 1. Snowman from a sock

Looking at these Stuffed Toys, it seems that they were sewn by skilled needlewomen, but in fact, every child can make the same snowman with his own hands in just 15 minutes from ... a sock.

Materials:

  1. White sock;
  2. Filler - any small grain or synthetic winterizer / cotton wool;
  3. Dense threads or thin rope;
  4. Decoration materials:
  • For eyes and nose: beads or pins with colored heads. You can also simply draw them with felt-tip pens or acrylic paints;
  • Clothing: buttons;
  • Scarf: a piece of colored matter (can be cut from a colored sock) or ribbon;
  1. Glue and thread with a needle to sew on buttons and a hat;
  2. Scissors.

Step 1. Cut the sock into two pieces as shown in the photo. The lower part of the sock (it should be without a heel) is the future hat, and the upper part is the snowman's body.

Step 2. Take the top of the sock and turn it inside out, then tightly tie one end of the sock (preferably the heel part) with a thread and turn our workpiece right side out again. You will get something like a bag.

The slider below clearly shows the process of how to make a snowman's body from a sock.

Step 3. Fill the resulting bag with filler, for example, rice, as in our master class. For convenience, you can pull the sock over a roll of tape (see photo).

Shape the snowman's body, then tie off the top with string and cut off the ends.

Step 4. Now tie the neck with a thread. Hooray! The snowman is almost ready, it remains only to decorate it.

Step 5. First, dress up the figurine with a scarf and at the same time hide the thread around the neck. The scarf can be cut from any soft tissue, for example, from a colored sock or fleece. If the selected fabric does not crumble much, fringe can be cut at the ends of the scarf.

Make a snowman hat from the rest of the sock.

Glue the buttons in the middle. You can sew them on if you wish.

Step 6 Finally, make the eyes and nose of your snowman. To do this, you can simply prick pins, draw them with felt-tip pens, cut them out of felt or sew on beads.

If you wish, you can make a whole family of snowmen using different materials and socks in different sizes and colors.

And here is a selection of photo ideas for decorating snowmen, made with your own hands from socks.

Master class 2. Snowman made of cotton wool and cardboard

Toddlers from one year old will surely like the idea of crafting a snowman from cotton wool and cardboard. Adults need very little help. The famous Olaf was made in this project, but you can make the most ordinary snowman.

Materials:

  • Cardboard;
  • Scissors;
  • Pencil;
  • PVA glue;
  • Cotton wool in balls (or just cotton wool);
  • White paper, black and orange marker;
  • Small twigs (collect them for a walk, wash and wipe dry).

Instruction:

Step 1. First you need to draw on the cardboard the silhouette of a snowman, consisting of three balls. If you want to make Olaf, then draw him from a picture found on the Internet. You can tell the child that Olaf's body consists of a large and a small ball, legs - from two small balls, and the head looks like an elongated rhombus.

Step 2. Cut out the drawn figure.

Step 3. Pour PVA glue onto a piece of cardboard or a saucer, pour cotton balls or plain cotton wool in front of the child. Next, you need to glue the entire figure with cotton wool according to the “dip-glue” scheme (you can say that). If you use ordinary cotton wool in a roll, then first you need to tear off a piece from it, then roll it up like a bun and only then glue it.

Step 4. Glue branch handles on the back of the cardboard. Do not forget to glue three branches on the head as well.

Step 5. Now freehand draw and cut out three small balls, paint them black and glue them on the craft. Then draw, cut and glue the eyebrows, eyes, mouth and carrot nose. Olaf is ready! You can glue a loop to it and hang it on a door or Christmas tree.

By the way, if you have a lot of disposable plates, you can glue them together and use as a base for crafts.

And a snowman made of cotton wool can decorate with itself wall panel or postcard.

  3. PVA glue;
  4. Hot glue gun;
  5. Container for glue;
  6. Paints;
  7. Scissors;
  8. Scotch;
  9. Decoration materials:

  • Eyes and mouth: black cardboard or black buttons;
  • Nose: orange paper/cardboard or white paper and orange paint;
  • Clothing: buttons;
  • Scarf: a piece of colored matter or tape;
  • Hat-cylinder (optional): cardboard, printer and tape.

Step 2. Connect the balls with adhesive tape.

Step 3 Lay newspaper on the table to protect it from glue. Pour glue into a saucer, dip most of the thread into it, then start wrapping the balls randomly, starting from the neck. Remember that the thread should always be abundantly covered with glue. Don't try to wrap the snowman too tightly.

Step 4. When the whole figure is covered with threads, leave the glue to dry overnight or overnight.

Step 5. Now that the glue is completely dry, pierce the balls with a needle and carefully pull them out. If at the same time you are afraid to expand the hole between the threads, pull out the balls under the neck, because it will still be tied with a scarf.

Step 6. Cut out a small circle at the bottom of the figure. This is necessary so that the snowman can stand.

Step 7. Cut the branches to the desired length and glue them with a hot glue gun.

Step 7. If you want your snowman craft to have a top hat, print the template below on cardboard, cut out all the details and glue. Then the cylinder can be decorated with ribbon.
