Cross stitch houses schemes of interesting buildings

Each needlewoman can boast of a picture embroidered with my own hands. Attracts cross-stitch and those people who are not particularly fond of needlework. One of the most popular motifs is the house. We bring to your attention schemes of paintings with houses, which, in our opinion, will decorate the hearth.
We will not dwell on the issues of choosing materials for cross stitch and patterns. A simple law applies here: the more expensive the thread, the better it will look, and the better the canvas, the easier it will be to work with. The only thing to consider is the correspondence between the sizes of the threads and the canvas. When embroidering with a cross, the thread is taken in several additions. On the finished picture, the canvas should not be enlightened. If there is no desire to select threads for the house scheme on your own, then you can purchase a ready-made kit. If you buy everything separately, then try to embroider 10 crosses in 2, 3 and 4 additions. Looking at them, you will immediately determine which option is suitable.
First, we will offer you schemes, and then we will give recommendations on the embroidery process itself.

Schemes for embroidery houses

Here are schemes that will fit into any interior.

And here are a few schemes of houses, which, in our opinion, are demanding on the interior.

The scheme is very delicate embroidery. Such a house embroidered cross om, will decorate the girl's room. It looks like a magic castle from which you can ask for the fulfillment of all desires.

If the schemes of these houses inspired you, then rather take a needle in your hands.

Before you start cross stitching, hoop the canvas. It is important not to overtighten the fabric. Otherwise, the house embroidered with a cross will look sloppy. Watch the thread tension while embroidering. Crosses should not tighten the canvas.
There are hoop marks on the fabric that will need to be ironed out. Try to choose the hoop in such a way that you change its position as few times as possible. Too steamed cross-stitched house will lose some of its appearance.

If there is no desire to give the picture a three-dimensional look, or to focus on some elements of the house, then cross-stitch is carried out everywhere in the same number of threads. If you want to highlight some elements of the house, then you can use a different number of additions. With this technique, embroidery takes on not only a voluminous, but also a more realistic look. These moments are usually displayed on the diagrams. A similar effect can be achieved by combining embroidery with threads and beads in one work. Beads are suitable for floral motifs. Also, the 3D effect can be achieved by alternating cross-stitch and semi-cross stitch. This technique is used when embroidering the sky or water. And all schemes containing such an element as a house, as a rule, also contain the sky.
A few words about the wrong side of the house, cross-stitched. This part of the work is hidden from view. However, if there are many knots on the wrong side, then the picture will not lie flat. The ends of the thread should be hidden under the already embroidered cross. Well, the last. Sometimes there is no desire to change threads often. In view of this, needlewomen tighten a long thread. And this leads to the formation of knots during cross-stitching.
A few words about schemes. They are multicolored and black and white. Here, someone is already used to what scheme. If this is your first cross stitch, then it is better to take a color one. This scheme is easier to understand. But if the cross-stitch contains many colors close to each other in tone, then it is better to work with a black and white version. No need to think that cross-stitch should be identical to the pattern. No one forbade "playing" with shades or adding something of your own. You won't find a job like this anywhere else.
We have presented to your attention schemes of paintings, which, in our opinion, will not only harmoniously fit into any interior, but will also become great gift for the dearest and closest. After all, embroidery, in our case it is a house, is now in fashion.

Dome embroidery kit (Korea)
Embroidery size - 163 x 27 cm
The set includes: floss (66 colors), two needles, canvas (14 count), scheme (three-color).

Anna Denisova kindly agreed to provide materials for this post and answer my questions.

– Anna, you have taken on a difficult job, surely you cannot be called a beginner in embroidery?

- For the first time I took a needle in my hands when, in the 9th grade, I went for a month to the Orlyonok camp on the Black Sea. Among the various workshops - from coloring pebbles to collecting origami - then I chose crosses. Now I don't even remember why. Apparently, the genetic memory worked - both of my grandmothers were very active in embroidering. In just four lessons, I managed to embroider a little teddy bear, make a small frame for it and ... fall in love with crosses. So today my embroidery experience is more than 20 years, although the peak of activity falls on the last six years.

Why did you choose this particular design?

I bought this set for a reason. I think that many embroiderers are aware of, and hinting at the solution of the housing problem to the universe. For a very long time and purposefully, I was looking for exactly “my” home, reviewed a bunch of designs, even bought a Dimensions set, but still I understood that it was all wrong. And then in some VKontakte group I saw a collaborator dedicated to the set of Green Village by the Korean company Dome, and then I realized that I would certainly embroider this wonderful village. Only one thing was embarrassing - the sizes ... Before that, of course, I embroidered large works, but all of them could not be compared with this. 163 centimeters a solid hint to the Universe, more than 60 colors and a mind-boggling amount of background that I don't like. But! To fall in love with the queen like that, to embroider the whole street at once. 🙂

“Anna, you are such a fascinating story!” It feels like it was sewn just as easily and joyfully ...

– The set already included a canvas with a nice bonus – completely overcast edges, which, of course, added aesthetics to the process. But in fact, the first sheets of the scheme (and there were 24 in total) were a real hell - very similar icons of the same color were located side by side and merged into one. The design is so detailed that sometimes with one square of 10 by 10 cells you had to sit for an hour, changing endless colors.

So in about a year I embroidered only two and a half houses. And then there was a crisis that gave me a lot of free time. I also saw what beauty comes out from under my needle, and my eyes got used to the scheme. And then came real love to this "Green Village". In general, I finished the rest of the 5 houses in less than six months - from February to September with short breaks.

- Someone on Instagram calculated that the whole process took you 588 days ...

- When a year and a half ago I bought this set with bated breath, I thought that this beautiful village would be embroidered at least until retirement. 🙂 I looked at the canvas, which is longer than me, at the diagram, which has more pages than in a short story, and did not know how to approach all this splendor at all. But! The eyes are afraid, and the thread behind the needle runs quickly.

How did you adapt to embroidering such a large canvas?

– I haven’t used the hoop for a long time – I don’t like creases on fabric and embroidery, besides, it’s more convenient to embroider large works on the loom. I have the usual desktop-sofa version, which allows me to work with a fragment of the canvas measuring about 30 by 40 centimeters at a time, and at the same time it is easy to rewind the canvas as the picture is filled. Naturally, the size of the canvas of this set did not fit in length, so I embroidered “sideways”. This elegant solution was suggested to me by my husband, otherwise I would have been twisting the machine in my hands for a long time.

What difficulties did you encounter while working?

- Unfortunately, the process was very much slowed down by the lack of threads in the set, and it was not enough very much. Five times I had to go to buy more floss. The colors, of course, still differed from the original ones, but on such great job it's practically invisible.

- Did you embroider something in parallel with this process in order to "distract yourself"?

— No, I really wanted to finish! And when the last cross was made, to be honest, it was even a little sad - so I got used to my village ... 🙂

- I can imagine how much it cost to complete the work ...

“Oh, I don’t even want to remember this amount! 🙂 After several days of joy at the end of the process, the question of design arose - I myself had no ideas at all and even ideas how to do it. In a baguette, together with consultants who were quite surprised by the size of embroideries, we more than an hour tried different styles and decoration. As a result, we settled on a double wooden frame (the inner one plays the role of a passe-partout and allows you to "balance" the length and height of the picture) and museum glass. The latter increased the total cost by almost a third, which for some time haunted me. But now, when the picture is already hanging on the wall, I am convinced of the correctness of this decision. Museum glass is a perfect miracle, not visible even from a close distance, creating a feeling of lively, bright, voluminous embroidery, which you want to touch.

And now this wonderful picture every day reminds me that even the smallest, but daily steps can lead to a huge result. And of course, I hope that someday the Universe will appreciate my giant hint. 🙂

— Anna, what are your future embroidery plans? Will you take on such a big project again?

- Now I am embroidering a small set, in which there are only 12 colors and I miss it a little - it seems already uninteresting. As far as future plans, if I see a design that truly captivates my heart, then the size won't stop me. 🙂

— Thank you very much, Anna, both for the story and for the photo. I wish you success and inspiration, and, of course, even crosses! 🙂

The first and most important condition is the house that you embroider should please you

It is advisable to believe in what you are doing, embroider only with bright thoughts and in good mood.

It is recommended to start embroidery on a favorable lunar day (the 7th, 10th, 11th and 14th lunar days are considered ideal for starting any embroidery). When embroidering a picture, it is recommended to imagine your dream and clearly understand why you are doing this. It is recommended to choose a picture for embroidery, first of all, according to your inner feelings - so that you like the house, so that the soul lies to it, you need to understand that this is exactly “Your house”, that you want to live in it. The sign can also work for relatives or friends. When embroidering for them as a gift, you should also sincerely wish for better living conditions for them.

There are also wishes and preferences for the houses themselves. In order for the house to “work” 100%, you need to pay attention to the following. Is not mandatory conditions, and desirable:

The house should look residential, i.e. the windows should be lit (and in no case should the windows be dark);

It is necessary that smoke comes out of the chimney;

The preferred season in the picture is spring or summer. Autumn is considered the personification of wilting, and winter is a period of stagnation and delay in business. Although autumn and winter are also different. If pumpkins lie next to the house, this is very good. Pumpkin will multiply everything many times over good wishes embedded in other symbols;

The house must completely fit in the picture;

A path should lead to the house, and a winding one;

The path to the house should go exactly from us, and not from somewhere on the side, i.e. so that we can walk along this path to the house;

The door of the house should / may be red (as an option - brick) - to attract good luck;

If there is a gate, then it must certainly be open;

The house should not be behind a blank fence;

It’s good if there are lanterns near the house, preferably luminous ones (unless, of course, it’s a clear sunny day in the picture);

The presence of a flower arch is also auspicious;

Additional details:

*sailboat (if any) towards the house;

* For Feng Shui, calm water (like a river) or stormy water (like a waterfall, sea in a storm) matters;
- The river is considered an auspicious element near the house, but the direction of the flow is important. The river should slightly bend around the house, in no case should the water flow directly to the house or behind it.
- Stormy water should not be present in the bedroom, for example.

The most "happy" in terms of signs are considered

For any needlewoman, an embroidery kit is a welcome gift, and there are never many of them. And it has a lot to do with it. interesting stories. Perhaps this is a novelty for beginner embroiderers, but there are even embroideries to make a wish come true. He embroiders a cozy country house, make a wish to build the same, and it can come true! Whether or not to do such a trick is up to you, in any case, time will not pass in vain - even an embroidered house will please the eye.

One of the most popular themes in house embroidery is a summer house against the backdrop of a forest landscape. Kits with this image can be found in any needlework store. From small huts in the forest to a luxurious dream home under the canopy of snow-covered pines. What is not the motivation for building the same?

Moreover, such cross-stitch embroidery can have one interesting purpose - a beautifully designed work can be given to newlyweds or newcomers. It will be symbolic. If they want their own cottage - embroider one, if the house is in the background blooming garden- visualize this wish too.

Gingerbread house: cross stitch patterns

And another house that can grant a wish - a gingerbread house. These are miniature fabulous houses, the fashion for which in our latitudes was passed on by European traditions. The most interesting thing is that the work is voluminous. Not just embroidery in a frame, but a real fairy-tale house - colorful, voluminous, magical. Children will be delighted!

Beautiful gingerbread houses do not embroider very quickly, but to say that this work is incredibly laborious, and a beginner cannot master it, is also wrong. Such a dollhouse is placed in the nursery at night, on the eve of the holiday (of the same New Year), and in the morning the children find this miracle, and there will be no limit to their delight.

What is usually included in a gingerbread house set:

  • Plastic white canvas;
  • Needles and threads;
  • Beads and bead;
  • Decorative ribbons;
  • Scheme.

The instructions are usually very detailed, understandable - you can make the house voluminous without the help of outsiders. After the holidays, you can put it in a chest and store it there until new celebrations, and so it will serve you for many years and, perhaps, even become a family heirloom.

Elegant cross stitch patterns: at home and New Year

Well, if with the found material in the form big schemes houses you are afraid to fail, try yourself in miniature. For example, you can stick small embroidered pictures on New Year's cards for friends and relatives. The same gingerbread house, or just a snow-covered house, a house in the mountains, Christmas streets with houses in anticipation of the holiday…

It's very atmospheric, cute and original. You can make not only a postcard with such a miniature, but also, for example, a pendant. And some craftsmen make such a patch for Christmas balls. Just try not to make monochrome compositions - they don't look so elegant.

And another idea is to make a garland of flags, on each of which stick miniatures with houses. And such a garland can hang in the aisles, on the window, above the bed, etc. In a word, one has only to make beautiful, not crooked, miniatures, and there will be a lot of options for their use.

Cross stitch: house for keys

And such embroidery kits (Korea, Russia, China - any production) are not difficult to find today. The embroidered house, which is designed in the form of a key holder, will decorate your real house. A cute, tasteful detail is just what you need to create coziness.

So, as a basis, you can take any scheme with a house - a house by the river or by the sea, a house with funny little houses looking out of the windows, etc. If you really want to do family work, take a pattern that is feasible for embroidery with children. After the embroidery is ready, you can arrange it under the key holder. Just so that the fabric does not diverge in the cut, do not forget to cover the edges with a colorless varnish.

To do this, not a simple wooden frame for a photo, you need to fasten several hooks, on which the keys will be hung. And a fabric with a pattern can be stretched over a thick piece of cardboard - the pattern should fall in the center of the frame. The cardboard is placed in the frame, and your homemade key holder is ready.

Creative cross-stitch: schemes of houses (video)

Images of houses really have some kind of motivating power, it is not for nothing that even a prayer is often embroidered on them, and this object created by hands begins to “work”. Try to embroider the house of your dreams, it is also created by your own hands, and this energy of creating your own, albeit such a small house, will help you in larger plans!

Good results!

Almost everyone loves cross stitch. It delights even those who are not very keen on needlework. One of the favorite motifs for cross-stitching is different houses against the backdrop of nature. We invite you to consider some schemes of paintings with houses.

We will not dwell on the issues of choosing patterns and materials for cross stitch. A simple law applies here: the more expensive the thread, the better it will look, and the better the canvas, the easier it is to work with. Consider matching the size of the threads and canvas. If you don’t want to select threads for the pattern yourself, buy a ready-made kit. When purchasing materials without a set, try to embroider 10 crosses in 2, 3 and 4 additions. The appearance of the sample will allow you to determine the appropriate option.

Schemes that look great in the interior.

Schemes of houses of a more complex design.

Scheme of delicate embroidery. Such a house, embroidered with a cross, will decorate the girl's room. It looks like a magical castle.

Before you start cross stitching, hoop the canvas. It is important not to overtighten the fabric so that the work is not distorted. Watch the thread tension while embroidering. Crosses should not tighten the canvas.

Traces of the hoop remain on the fabric, which must be removed at the end of the work.

If there is no desire to add volume to the picture, or to focus on individual elements, then cross-stitching is carried out with the same number of thread additions. If you need to highlight the elements of the house, use a different number of additions. With this technique, embroidery takes on a voluminous and real appearance. The underside of the work is hidden from view, but when there are many knots on it, the canvas of the work will be uneven. Disguise the ends of the thread under the already embroidered cross. Do not use a long thread so that knots do not form during the work.

A few words about schemes. They are multicolor and black and white. If this is your first cross stitch, then it is better to take color, because it is easier to perceive. But if the scheme contains many shades close to each other in tone, then it is better to work with a black and white version.

We have presented to your attention schemes of paintings that will harmoniously fit into any interior, and will be a great gift for the dearest people.
