Old straps for basic items;

Metal bracelets (2 pcs.);

Various straps or braid;

Scissors and glue;

Threads and a needle for leather or an awl.

By the way, you do not have to repeat the intricacies of belts - come up with your own, perhaps simpler or more complex version.

We measure two strips of the same length and fasten them at equal distances on the main waist belt. You can sew them on or glue them on. And you can do both.

From the chest along the neck and on the back we also fasten two strips of belts, in the same way as the first.

Everything is easier than it seems. In front, we get a cross with a metal ring in the middle.

We will also make a ring at the back, so we attach the ends of the strips to it. It's easier to work with glue first, and then, when the harness is ready, flash all the right places.

Leather Weekend on Garterblog continues. As promised, I post the ideas and ways I found on how to make leather harnesses (harness) on my own. One of them is classic, the other is so simple that it causes sincere surprise and admiration for the author of the idea.

The easy way

Let's start with the super easy way that I found on the blog Karina de Jesus Beach&Dress. It is enough to connect two identically wide plain belts together and voila, the harness is ready without a single stitch!

Classic way

The second method is found on the site Cut out and Keep (by Juu & Ros - Operational overhaul).

The guys considered the most basic, classic shape harness with two straight straps on the front and a Y-shaped back.

Materials and tools

1. a leather strip 2 meters long and about 2.5 - 3 cm wide;
2. scissors;
3. metal ring;
4. buckle;
5. sewing materials/glue;
6. add. decor (riveting) optional.

Instruction

1. Sew or glue the end of the leather strip that will be on one side of the buckle with special glue (the authors chose an adjustable buckle so as not to punch holes in the tape).

2. Wrap a strip of leather around the area where you will wear it (some people prefer to wear directly under the bust, some at the waist). Then thread the strip through the buckle. Leave a "tail" of about 5 cm, and cut off the excess.

You should end up with something like a simple belt. The guys got a strip 89 cm long.

3. After the belt, it's time to do the straps. We wrap the remaining strips of leather around the belt as in the photo below.

4. We sew the resulting first loop as close as possible to the belt, but so that the belt can be easily inserted or pulled out of the loop.

5. So, the first strap is ready. Now we put a belt into the loop of the strap, and put the belt on the desired level, then we throw the strap over the back and mark the place on the strap on the back where the straps will have to intersect. Here you will need the help of a friend.

Now we cut off the excess below this mark, not forgetting to leave the extra length on the loop. The guys got 47 cm of straps each, but don't worry if your straps are longer or shorter. Proceed to create another strap of the same length.

6. Now we disconnect the straps from the belt and proceed to sewing both straps to the ring (we sew, of course, the free ends).

We sew the free ends close to the ring, but so that the ring can freely scroll through the resulting loops.

7. Sew the remaining strap to the ring so that you get a Y-shaped back.

8. Put on the harness again and mark how long you will attach the last strap to the belt, leave an additional length on the loop with which you will attach the strap.

9. After you sew the belt loop on the last strap, you should have something like this:
