Children's jumper with owl spokes. Knitted pullover "Owls" according to the method of Kate Davis Owl knitting pattern on a sweater

Of course, you can always buy a cute blouse or hat in the store, but making your own clothing items is much more fun. The pattern "Owl" with knitting needles is one of the most interesting and simple patterns. Even a novice needlewoman can knit it.

The "Owl" pattern is knitted with front stitch. Experienced craftswomen recommend adhering to the technique of crossed loops. When knitting the wrong side of this touching pattern, it is recommended to use facial ones.

Knitting pattern for the "Owl" pattern

To create an owl, the craftswoman will need knitting needles number 3.5 and yarn 200 m thick per 100 g. This turns out to be a nice image, the height of which is 10 and the width is 7 centimeters. The repeat of this pattern is 12 loops wide and 26 rows high.

To decide on a color, you can look at pictures on the Internet in advance or use your imagination and make a completely creative bird. Thread color can be any.

Most women who are fond of knitting easily master the technique of making an owl. We hope our master class and video lesson will help you with this.

Description of knitting pattern "Owl"

Despite the fact that the rapport of the “owl” pattern is 12 loops, dial at least 16 main and 2 edge loops. Thus, only 12 pieces are obtained. This is necessary for symmetry. After that, knitting is carried out as follows:

  • remove the 1st edge loop as shown in the video;
  • the latter must be knitted on the wrong side (FROM);
  • knit the first row, consisting of 4 facial (L) (knitting is carried out for the front walls, this is important);
  • purl parts are made not the classic way, therefore, in the 3rd row, knitting is carried out behind the back walls;
  • the next stage is knitting eight FROM;
  • if the wrong loops are made in the classical way, then knit the front loops behind the front walls;
  • the next stage is knitting 4 L (closes with hem and purl);
  • the second row of the “owl” pattern consists entirely of purl loops (it is important not to forget to remove the hem);
  • the 3rd is knitted similarly to the 1st;
  • then turn the knitting over and knit the entire row inside out;
  • on the 5th, turn the product over again and tie four FROM and eight L;
  • after that, without turning over, make 4 more purl;
  • on the sixth line of the product, make 4 L and 8 FROM (the last 4 are knitted in the front way);
  • for knitting the 7th line, the craftswoman will need an auxiliary knitting needle;
  • knitting begins with the removal of the hem part, then knit 4 OUT;
  • “cross” four L to the right side (for this you need to remove two with an auxiliary knitting needle and leave them behind the pattern and knit the remaining 2 facial ones);
  • finish the line with two "additional";
  • even rows from the 8th to the 16th knit similarly to the 1st;
  • odd, starting from the 9th to the 15th, knit in the same way;
  • for knitting the seventeenth row of the product, the craftswoman must again “arm herself” with an auxiliary knitting needle (the lower part of the pattern is already ready);
  • knit 4 OUT, remove 2 loops with an additional knitting needle and leave them behind the pattern;
  • knit the next 2 L;
  • "cross" with two additional elements;
  • move the four remaining loops to the left side (to do this, remove 2 of them with an additional knitting needle and leave in front of the pattern);
  • tie 2 L;
  • tie 2 more additional L;
  • complete line: 4 out;
  • 18-22nd: do as the diagram shows (similar to 1st);
  • 19th-21st: knit 4 OUT, 8th L and again 4 OUT (it is important not to forget to turn your work over to the other side);
  • on the twenty-third row, an auxiliary knitting needle will also be required (this is necessary for the final movement);
  • make 4 OUT and the same number of L, cross to the right (first you need to knit the 3-4th, then 1 and 2nd);
  • on the 24th: do 4 L, 1 OUT;
  • further 6 L, 1 FROM and 4 L;
  • 25th: made from the method;
  • 26th: knit in the front way.

The finished product can be decorated. For example, a craftswoman can make eyes and a nose for her owlet out of black beads. The size of the beads does not matter, but the large ones look much more spectacular. They can be both sewn on and glued on. All this spectacular composition can be used as a wonderful decoration for hats, mittens, jackets, sweaters.

Knitting an owl pattern is very simple and even beginner craftswomen can cope with it. The whole secret of the pattern is in crossing the loops, with the help of an additional knitting needle, as when knitting a braid. You can decorate with this pattern both children's and women's clothes.

An owl pattern with knitting needles is perfect for knitting hats, mittens, mittens and even socks and bracelets. You can diversify the pattern with beads, buttons and contrasting colors. With a little imagination, you can create a whole look with this simple pattern.

pattern scheme owl1

Description of the owl pattern scheme

The report of the owl pattern, for the ornament, is 12 loops along with the background of the wrong side. For a single pattern placed on a hat, pocket or other product, the number of loops of the pattern = 8 + the required number of loops of the wrong side on both sides of the owl. There are only 16 loops in our scheme; 8 loops of embossed owl and 4 loops of the wrong side on both sides.

Knit a pattern according to the proposed scheme. On rows 7, 17 and 23, do crossing loops as follows:

Remove 2 front loops on the auxiliary knitting needle and leave it at work, knit the next 2 front loops, and after the loop from the auxiliary knitting needle. The next 2 front loops, again remove to an additional knitting needle and leave, now before work. Knit 2 front loops, and after the loop with an additional knitting needle. That's the whole secret of the pattern.

If you understand the principle of weaving loops for an owl pattern, it will not be difficult for you to change the pattern a little, making the owls larger or more embossed. In the ornament, you can simply reduce or increase the number of loops of the wrong side between the owls. As an example of changing the pattern, try knitting the owls according to the second option.

Owl knitting 2

The second version of the owl pattern knitting needles is slightly different from the previous one, but the principle of knitting is the same - crossing the loops. The main difference is the embossed belly of an owl, it can be knitted using rice knitting or tangle.

Description of the scheme 2 patterns owl

For the sample pattern, 20 loops were taken without taking into account the edge ones, please note that both front and back rows are indicated in the diagram.

1st and 2nd rows: all loops are facial;
3rd row: purl 1, knit 18, purl 1;
4th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th rows knit according to the pattern;
5th row: 2 purl, 4 facial loops cross to the right (crossing the loops, as in the previous pattern); we knit the next 8 loops alternately 1 front, 1 purl (for a relief abdomen, later on these loops knit with a patchwork or rice knit pattern , that is, shifting the pattern by 1 loop in each row or through a row); Cross 4 facial loops to the left, 2 purl;
6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th rows: 2 facial loops (for the background of the wrong side), 2 wrong loops (sides of an owl); we knit the next 12 loops alternately 1 front, 1 purl (for the relief abdomen (pattern pattern); 2 purl loops (owl sides), 2 front (background);

7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th rows: 2 purl loops (for the background), 2 facial loops (sides), knit the next 12 loops with a patchwork pattern; 2 facial (sides), 2 purl (background);
17th row: 2 purl loops, cross 8 loops to the right, knitting as follows: put 4 loops on the auxiliary knitting needle and leave at work, next. Knit 4 loops, then knit 4 loops from the auxiliary knitting needle; cross 8 loops to the left: put 4 loops on the auxiliary knitting needle and leave now before work, next. 4 loops knit facial, and after 4 loops from the auxiliary knitting needle, 2 purl;
25th row: 2 purl loops (background), cross 8 loops to the right, 8 loops to the left, 2 purl (background);
26th row: 2 facial, 4 purl, 8 facial, 4 purl, 2 facial loops;
27th row: 2 purl, 4 facial, 8 purl, 4 facial, 2 purl loops;
28th row: all loops are facial;
29th row: purl all loops;

owl pattern 2

By decreasing or increasing the number of loops of the report, you can slightly change the pattern itself, making it larger or wider. For example, the 3rd version of the pattern is very similar to the 2nd, but still different.

owl pattern 3

Description of the scheme 3 patterns owl

To knit a sample of pattern 3, cast on 24 loops on the knitting needles: 22 pattern loops + 2 edge loops (edge loops are not indicated in the pattern) and knit according to the proposed pattern and symbols.

Edge hinges- this is the 1st and last loop of the row. Usually, last loop in each row they are knitted on the wrong side, and the 1st loop in each row is removed without knitting. At the same time, the loop is removed as if it were a front loop, that is, in such a way that the working thread would not create a knot. Then, along the edge of the product, an even spikelet is obtained from elongated loops. Edge loops are also knitted in other ways, but in any case this does not affect the main pattern.

Knitting is one of the most common types of needlework. Soft, warm, cozy hand-knitted things won the hearts of people.

patterns

A variety of patterns are knitted with knitting needles: the “owl” pattern, created with knitting needles, looks unusual and fun, the “spikelets” pattern looks elegant and festive. Light and airy, things made with knitting needles can be warm and warming at the same time.

Owl pattern

The “owl” pattern with knitting needles is done quite simply if there is a skill in knitting facial and purl loops, as well as experience in making braids.

This pattern looks great on hats, mittens or gloves, as well as on sweaters. Due to the use of simple loops, the bird figurine is voluminous. Applying additional finishing, accessories are decorated with additional beads or tassels for owl ears.

Pattern scheme

The "owl" pattern is knitted with knitting needles. The pattern looks a little intimidating, but if you understand the conventions, even a beginner knitter will easily repeat the pattern.

The pattern is knitted with front stitch on the front. The body of an owl is obtained by knitting crossed loops. There is a peculiarity in knitting - the formation of the wrong side is performed a little differently: the wrong loops are knitted in the front rows, and then the front loops are made in the wrong ones.

To get beautiful pattern"owl" with knitting needles, diagrams with a description contain symbols and tips for choosing yarn and devices.

To get an owl measuring 10 cm by 7 cm, you need knitting needles No. 3.5, yarn 200 m / 100 g. It is not recommended to use too fluffy yarn or melange with short sections - an owl can turn out to be sloppy. If a specific thread is selected, it is imperative to knit a test piece to distribute the threads and check the behavior of the yarn in the pattern. Some twisted threads are not suitable for crossed loops - the pattern can be twisted due to the twisted structure of the yarn threads.

Rapport (pattern repetition): these are 14 loops wide, 32 rows high.

Description of knitting

1st row: * knit 6 loops, then purl 2, then knit 6 *;

2nd row: knit * 6 purl, 2 facial, 6 purl *;

3rd row: knit * 6 front, then 2 out., again knit 6 front *;

4th row: knit * 6 out., again 2 persons., 6 out. *;

Row 5: * Slip off three (3) sts on extra needle. The needle is at work. The next 3 loops are knitted with facial ones, after that three loops are knitted with knitting needles, 2 are knitted with purl stitches, three loops are thrown onto an additional knitting needle, while the knitting needle is in front of the work, the next three loops are knitted with knit stitches, then loops with additional knit stitches are knitted *;

6th row: all even rows from the 6th row to the 20th row are knitted with purl loops;

7th row: all odd rows from the 7th row to the 19th row are knitted only with facial loops;

21st row: * three loops are removed for an additional loop at work, the next 4 knit loops are knitted, and 3 knit loops are knitted from the additional knitting needle. facial *;

31st row: * first 2 facial 10 purl, 2 persons. *;

Row 32: Work *purl 1, knit 12, purl 1*.

Conventions

In order to knit the “owl” pattern with knitting needles, the description schemes contain selective information, but most knitters find it more convenient to work by reading the accepted designations.

The following symbols are used in the circuit diagram:

  • Empty square - the front loop is knitted in the front row, the wrong one is in the wrong one.
  • A square with an empty circle inside - a purl loop is knitted in the front row, and a front loop in the purl.
  • 6 cells with an arrow crossing them pointing to the right - an interception of six loops is knitted with a slope to the right. For knitting, 1, 2, 3 loops are removed for work on an additional knitting needle. 4, 5, 6 are knitted, then loops are knitted from an additional knitting needle.
  • 6 cells with an arrow crossing them pointing to the left - an interception of 6 loops is knitted with a slope to the left. To do this, remove the 1st, then the 2nd, then the 3rd loops on an additional knitting needle in front of the work. After that, the 4th, as well as the 5th, 6th, are knitted, then loops are knitted from an additional knitting needle.
  • 7 cells with an arrow pointing to the left - an interception of 7 loops. It is knitted, like an interception from 6, but first 3 loops are removed, 4, 5, 6, 7 are knitted, and then loops are knitted from an additional knitting needle.
  • 7 cells with an arrow pointing to the right - an interception of 7 loops is knitted with a slope to the left. It is removed in front of the work on the auxiliary knitting needle 1, and 2, then 3 and 4 loops, then 5, then 6 and 7 are knitted, and then the loops from the spare knitting needle.

To decorate the resulting owl, beads are used - large black ones are sewn in place of the mouth, and small ones are sewn in place of the nose. If desired, you can leave the pattern without decoration.

The “owl” pattern is easily knitted with knitting needles, the description of which is presented above. It allows you to decorate not only clothes, but also home accessories. For example, you will get magnificent pillows with an owl ornament.

The knitted pattern "owl", made with knitting needles, looks interesting and unusual. It can be used to decorate both adult and children's clothes.

A chic yet simple pullover. knitted. All its originality is in the pattern of owls staring at you intently. This pullover model has not gone out of fashion for a long time. It is understandable: the silhouette is classic, it is always relevant, and the main decoration is really original. We provide a description of how to knit such an original women's pullover according to the method of Kate Davis, a diagram with all the transcripts is attached a little lower.

In general, nothing special: satin stitch knitting, elastic trim, as is customary, the length of both the sleeves and the product itself is traditional. Remarkable owls with round button eyes, sedately seated around the neckline along its circumference and constituted round yoke pullover.

Owls are made using the braid technique, their number is calculated for 8 sizes, the yarn consumption is also indicated there.

Purelife British Sheep Breeds Chunky (110m/100g), pure wool yarn for this owl pullover. Such a thread is knitted with knitting needles:

- circular, 6½ mm and 6 mm, the length of the fishing line must be chosen 100 cm and 60 cm - for the body of the pullover;

- hosiery of the same parameters - for sleeves;

- one straight needle of 8 mm will be required to close the loops (pt).

You will also need auxiliary knitting needles (cn / cn), devices for holding delayed pts, markers of 2 colors (MA and MB) and a knitting needle.

We will knit the sample with the front surface (lc / ch): 20 rows of 13 pt = 10 cm.

How to knit a pullover for women with an embossed pattern with Owl needles

The pullover is supposed to be tight fitting. If you are used to wearing looser clothes, then it is better to knit in a size that is one step larger than yours.

Legend:

We knit the wrapped sts as 2 sts together, together with the wrapping thread.

Description of work on a knitted pullover for women

Let's start knitting from the bottom, with a common detail. We will work in circular rows (kgr), we will rise up to the armhole, along the way, performing fitting along the back. From the armhole, the division into separate parts begins, each sleeve is also knitted separately.

Fri finished sleeves and pullover body parts are assembled on knitting needles to make a coquette.

Pullover body

Cast on 96 (104, 106, 116, 120, 128) sts on 6 mm needles. Set the color marker A (UMA) to the beginning of the circle.

We knit a ring with a width of 5 cm with an elastic band 2x2 (2 lct; 2 pt) and move with all the sts to the knitting needles 6½ mm.

Now we turn exclusively to lc / ch, that is, we knit lcpt all the time.

1st round, for S, M, XL: * 50 (56, 62) ltspt; 2 lcpt together *; repeat *-* 1 more time = 102 (114, 126) pt.

Sl.crgr, for all:

- 48 (51, 54, 57, 60, 63) lcpt; UMA;
- 16 (17, 18, 19, 20, 21) lcpt; install the first MV;
- 16 (17, 18, 19, 20, 21) loops; install the second MV;
- we tie the kgr to the end.

We knit straight for another 5 (5, 5, 7.5, 7.5, 7.5) cm.

We form the waist

This means that you need to do decreases (dec / pt), and then add pt (pr / pt).

1st round from dec/fri:

- we knit lcpt to the first MB, we do not reach it 3 pt;
- 2 together lcpt to the left; 1 lcpt; MV first; 1 lcpt; 2 lcpt together;
- knit lcpt to sl. MV, do not reach it 3 pt;
- 2 together lcpt to the left; 1 lcpt; MV second; 1 lcpt; 2 lcpt together; kgrr we tie.

2nd round: lcpt.
3rd round: lcpt.
4th round: lcpt.

3 more times we perform 1-4 kr = 80 (86, 92, 98, 104, 110) sts, this is the bottleneck of the pullover.

1st round with pr/fri:

- we knit lcpt to the first MB, we do not reach it 1 pt;
- add 1 lcpt; 1 lcpt; MV first; 1 lcpt; add 1 lcpt;
- knit lcpt to sl. MV; 1 lcpt; add 1 lcpt; kgrr we tie.

2nd round: lcpt.
3rd round: lcpt.
4th round: lcpt.

5 more times we perform 1-4 kgr = 104 (112, 116, 122, 128, 134) pt.

We remove color markers B, they were needed for reductions along the back.

Next kgr for S: decrease 2 pts evenly.

We form a coquette with the help of Ukr

You will have to work in straight rows (rpr).

Sl.rpr (RS): tie 16 (17, 18, 19, 20, 21) ltspt; wrap pt and turn.
Sl.rpr (IP): tie 88 (93, 98, 103, 108, 113) pt; wrap Fri and turn;

- we knit 88 (93, 98, 103, 108, 113) ltst to the first turning point, and we knit the wrapped sts together with the wrapping thread;
- we knit 14 (15, 16, 17, 18, 19) ltspt, we also knit the wrapped pts together with the wrapping thread;
- we tie the rpr with some ltspt.

- close 2 pt;
- we knit 44 (47, 50, 53, 56, 59) lcpt;
- close 2 pt; remove marker M; close sl. 2 pt;
- we knit 52 (55, 58, 61, 64, 67 ltspt;
- close 2 pt; remove marker M.

We get 96 (104, 108, 114, 120, 126) sts on the needles and put them all aside.

Sleeves

We take stocking needles 6 mm into work, we collect 24 (24, 28, 28, 32, 32) pts on them, set MA, color marker A, at the beginning of the round.

We knit a ring with a width of 7½ cm with a 2x2 elastic band and move to 5 mm knitting needles. Then we knit lcpt for another 5 cm.

- * CM; 1 lcpt; 1 pt add; we knit to the end of the kgr, we do not reach it 1 pt; 1 pt add; 1 lcpt.

We knit 5 cm **.

It is necessary to perform from * to ** 5 more times.

For S, M, XL, this must be done 1 more time, that is, perform from * to ** = 36 (38, 40. 42, 44, 46) pt.

Sl.krgr: knit, closing before and after the MA marker, 2 pts each.

We will have 32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 42) sts on the needles - and put them aside. We knit the second sleeve and also get its postponed pt.

Yoke

To begin with, we will collect all the points on which we will knit a yoke. To do this, take the knitting needles 6½ mm with a fishing line, which is more authentic. Let's type pt on them in the following sequence:

- postponed Fri of the left sleeve;
- Fri reserved for the transfer;
- delayed Fri of the right sleeve;
- pt reserved for the back = total 160 (170, 180, 190, 200, 210) pt.

Let's set MA, denoting the beginning of kgr, and proceed to the coquette. It must be performed according to the attached pattern of the pattern, which occupies 19 rows.

After the pattern is completed, we will begin to reduce the coquette (UbK).

1st round with UbK: * 1 ltspt; 2 stitches knit together *; repeat *-* to the end of kgr = 107 (114, 120, 127, 133, 140) pt.
2nd round: lcpt.

Let's do this pair of kgr (1st and 2nd) 1 more time = 72 (76, 80, 85, 89, 93) pt.

1st RPR (UKR): 70 (74, 78, 83, 87, 91) ltsp; wrap the pt and turn the knitting.
2nd RPR (UKR): 22 (24, 26, 28, 30, 32) ltsp; wrap pt and turn.
3rd RPR (UKR): 20 (22, 24, 26, 28, 30) ltsp; wrap pt and turn.
4th RPR (UKR): 18 (20, 22, 24, 26, 28) ltsp; wrap pt and turn.

Sl.rpr we knit ltspt, while we knit the wrapped sts together with the wrapping thread. Now back to circular knitting.

Sl.kgr: knit ltspt, decrease 8 (8, 8, 9, 9, 9) sts evenly along the way = 64 (68, 72, 76, 80, 84) pts.

We move to 6 mm pt and on all pt we knit with an elastic band 2x2.

Now we arm ourselves with an 8 mm knitting needle and close all the stitches according to the drawing.

Completion

We carry out a seam in the armholes and hide the remnants of all the threads from the inside. We make a pullover blocking, after which we can wear it.
