A scarf is an integral part of a woman's wardrobe, so today we want to tell you how to knit a fabulously beautiful and cozy Norwegian triangular scarf - baktus. The shape of the scarf resembles an ordinary scarf, which will become a real decoration in your wardrobe.

Recommended yarn composition: merino, merino/acrylic, cotton/acrylic, microfiber or viscose. The yarn needs to hold its shape to create voluminous and attractive folds. We will need 200-300 grams of yarn, about 600 meters. Needles: 3 to 4.

Additionally, for work we need:

1. 50 markers or paper clips if you don't have the required number of markers. You can also use colored threads of different colors.

2. The hook is 1.5-2 numbers larger than the used knitting needles.

We collect loops in the following way: we take a hook 1.5 -2 numbers more than the number of knitting needles used, with a hook number 5, with knitting needles number 3.5.

You need to crochet a chain of air loops, turn it upside down, pick up the top loop and put each loop on the knitting needle. You will get a row of beautiful air loops. You can cast on loops in the usual way, but then the edges of the bactus scarf will not look so impressive and elegant.

After dialing the extreme loops, it's time to take on our markers or paper clips. We need the following on the needle: 12 loops, * hang a marker, 11 loops *, repeat from star to star until the last 12 loops remain, dress them and start knitting.

IMPORTANT! The loops must be cast on from the end where we have a tail from the cast-on, so that after putting on the last 12 loops, we have a working thread to the ball!

Thus, you will have 288 loops and 25 markers (paper clips) hung.

We start knitting:

In all rows, the loops must be knitted facial. Knit short rows using the twisting method at the end of each row.

Knit the first six stitches around the right needle, throwing a working thread over it, as shown in the photo, turn around and knit in the opposite direction to the edge. The edge loops at the end of the row should be purl, removed at the beginning of the row.

1 row: (front) slip the first loop, knit 5 loops and wrap around the right knitting needle;
2 row (purl) knit facial 6 loops;
3 row (front) remove the first, knit 5 loops with the front, knit the twist together with the next loop of the front, knit five more loops with the front and wrap the right knitting needle again as shown in the picture;
4 row (wrong side) knit 12 loops;
5 row (front) remove the first, knit all the loops to the twist, remove the marker, knit the twist with the next loop together, knit 4 more loops (total knitted 17 loops) make a twist;
Row 6 (purl) Knit all stitches to the end of the row.
7 row (front) remove the first one, knit all the loops to the twist, knit the loop together with the next loop, knit another 5 loops and twist;
Row 8 (purl) Knit all sts to last 2 sts. Knit the next loop with the front one, first behind the front and then behind the back wall. (It will turn out - we added one loop), knit the edge in the usual way.
9 row (front) slip the first, knit all loops to the twist, remove the marker, knit the twist with the next loop together, knit 4 more loops, make a twist;
Row 10 (purl) knit all loops to the end of the row;
11 row (front) remove the first, knit all the loops to the twist, knit the twist with the next loop together, knit another 5 loops and make a twist;
Row 12 (purl) Knit all loops.

In every eighth row, additions should be made - in order not to get confused and not to forget about the additions, hang the marker or paper clips as you knit.

Repeat rows 5 to 12 until you have used all the cast on stitches.

Decrease:

On the longest row, work the last 6 stitches, turn around and work back to hem. On the next RS row, skip these 6 sts, wrap around, turn around and work to the end. On the next RS row, skip 5 sts (counting from the last twist), wrap around, turn around and work to the end.

Don't forget to make slits and increases in the right edge of the scarf, as shown in the diagram. Cuts must be made every 13 ribs, counting them on the front side.

On a purl row, cast off 11 sts as usual (do not remove the first and second marker and do not transfer them from row to row until the end of the last slot). You just need to count the vertical loops and place the next slot above the previous one.

Slip the last remaining stitch onto the left needle.

Using the twisting method, cast on 12 loops and through the last loop cast on, pull the first loop from the right knitting needle, pulling the thread well. You will have 11 cast on stitches, continuing to knit the row in the opposite direction, as it was before the cast on.

You will get a cozy Norwegian bactus, the size before washing is 135 cm long at the longest point, 67 wide at the widest point and 56 perpendicular to the typesetting row. By weight 141 grams, total 485 meters. After washing, the scarf may increase and straighten out.

Bactus is a newfangled scarf-kerchief that knits literally in a matter of hours.

A scarf or scarf for a woman with a scalloped border is not difficult to knit. A simple pattern is understandable even to beginner knitters. Indeed, what could be easier than a garter stitch.

What is necessary:

  • 100 g of yarn;
  • knitting needles number 4.

We knit according to the scheme:

  1. Three loops are cast on and ten rows are knitted with facial ones, be sure to make an increase in each even row.
  2. In order to perform a zigzag, the first loop is removed not knitted, the second is knitted, after which the constriction is made. The right stitch is thrown over to the left, returns to the left knitting needle and becomes a hem stitch, three loops are closed.
  3. After that, the zigzag technique is repeated from the second to the tenth row. At the same time, all even rows fit in with the increase.
  4. Increases are made until the height of the product is 30 cm and the length is 1 m.
  5. After that, the knitting of the other side of the workpiece begins. First of all, the top of the triangle is formed. For this purpose, the partial knitting method is used.
  6. In the first two rows, the edge stitch is removed and the next two are knitted.
  7. The work is turned and the remaining unknitted stitches remain on the left needle.
  8. Now all three loops are knitted, and the hem loop is also made front.
  9. On the next two lines, the hem is removed, only the next two are knitted.
  10. Knitting is turned and all loops are made in the same pattern as in the second line.
  11. Thus, in each of the odd rows, one knitted stitch is added.
  12. When there are already five loops on the knitting needle, they are closed by analogy with knitting cloves.

Work continues until the entire side is decorated with cloves.

Detailed description:

  1. A set of three loops, of which six rows are knitted with front stitch. In the last of them, an increase is made. To do this, two front stitches are knitted first for the front wall, and then for the back.
  2. Six lines are made with the wrong side and an increase is also made on the last one.
  3. These two stages are repeated until the height of the product reaches forty centimeters.
  4. The alternation of the front and back surfaces continues, but at the same time, in every second line, one loop is added on the inside and one loop is removed in every sixth.
  5. According to this pattern, another thirty centimeters of the product is knitted in height.
  6. At the beginning of every sixth row, four stitches are closed and added one at a time in even rows at the end of the row, and in odd rows at the beginning.

When the scarf is the desired length, bind off all loops.

It is best to knit such a winter accessory from mohair. It is from this yarn that the product will be very warm and beautiful. Depending on the color of the threads, the scarf can be both female and male. A simple pattern will suit absolutely everyone.

  3. Yarn over in the fourth row, as in all multiples of four.
  4. Increases are made until the width of the product is equal to thirty centimeters.
  5. After that, decreases are made, also in each multiple of four lines.

Despite the simplicity of making a Norwegian scarf-kerchief, this work also has its own characteristics.

That is why it is so important to adhere to the following recommendations:

  1. The standard length of the product is 50 cm, but if desired, it can be shortened or, conversely, made longer.
  2. The average amount of yarn required varies from 200 to 400 grams. It is better to take a little more than originally intended.
  3. It is better to choose yarn from a mixture of acrylic and wool. The product will be soft and will not cause irritation.
  4. Knitting always starts from an acute angle.
  5. Regardless of the pattern chosen, it is necessary to add one loop in each line, a multiple of four.
  6. In order for the scarf not to twist, the first and last loop must also be knitted with the front one.

For a more original design of the bactus, it is recommended that the penultimate loop in the row be simply removed and not knitted, and the last one should be purl. At the same time, make an increase with the third loop in the line.

Knitting bactus: ideas

The classic triangular scarf is knitted in garter stitch and, in principle, is not decorated with anything else. But for fans to dream up this rule is unacceptable.

  1. Skillful needlewomen combine the front and back surfaces, due to which it is no longer an ordinary bactus, but an original breakwater scarf.
  2. If desired, you can tie the product with openwork viscous or leaves. In this case, the scarf will be just perfect for the off-season.
  3. Even a classic triangular scarf can be crocheted, resulting in a more original, but very warm product.
  4. An extraordinary decoration of an accessory can be tassels made from a strand or connected curls.
  5. Even an ordinary brooch can transform an already beautiful product beyond recognition.

Bactus garter stitch for beginners

This elegant bactus with a scalloped edge will not leave anyone indifferent. With this accessory, you can update any clothes. The scarf at the top has 35 cm, and its length is 1 meter.

Beginner needlewomen will need the following materials:
  • about 100 g of yarn (a mixture of wool and acrylic);
  • marker;
  • long knitting needles N4;
  • row counter.

Operating procedure

Cast on 3 stitches, from the 1st to the 10th row, knit with a garter stitch. That is, in addition to hem, do knit or purl - choose any knitting (the pattern of the product will be the same). In each even row of the product, make an increase. Knitting should be on one side of the scarf, fasten the marker.
So that a hole does not form in this scarf model, you need to knit 2-ve from the last loop (before the edge loop). Grab one loop behind the front wall, without removing the loops from the left knitting needle, tie another front one behind the back wall.

By the time 10 rows are connected, 8 loops are formed on the knitting needle (together with the edge ones).

Zigzag along the side of the scarf where you increase. This is done as follows: remove the 1st loop without knitting, knit the 2nd, make a broach (throw the right loop on the left, return to the left knitting needle, so it will become a hem).

Close 3 loops, resulting in the 11th row will be with 5 loops (with edge loops).

Further, the zigzag knitting technique from the 2nd to the 10th row is repeated. In the 6th - again increase the 1st loop, and then knit the even rows with an increase, and the odd ones without an increase. Knit another 10 rows in the same way, by the 21st - there will be 10 loops on the knitting needles (with edge ones). In the 22nd - knit the clove of bactus again according to the method described above.

Repeat the technique of knitting the teeth of the product to the end of the first long side of the leg. Knit increases until the widest side of the product reaches 30 cm, and its length is 1 meter. Having finished the next zigzag, start knitting the other side of the leg of the same triangle. First form the top of the triangle using the partial knitting method.

Row 1-2: Slip edge st, work next 2 sts, turn work, leaving remaining sts on left needle (do not knit). Knit 3 loops, while the edge - knit the front.
Rows 3-4: slip hem, work 3 sts, turn work and work again as in 2nd row.
So in each next odd row, add the 1st knitted loop. When 5 loops are knitted on the knitting needle, close as when knitting cloves. Bind off 5 sts, knit next 2 sts from left needle, start again with partial knitting technique. Continue to the end of the second leg of the scarf. Close the last loops, the bactus with jagged edges is ready.
