Summer is coming - the soul asks for colors and bright combinations. And of course, in solving this problem, one cannot do without the universal African flower motif :) This time, a tropical-colored hippopotamus will be created from the motifs.

To create it, yarn "Children's novelty" was used (colors: orange, green, red and yellow), synthetic winterizer and hook No. 2. For a hippopotamus, 44 motifs are needed: 1 octagonal (belly), 2 heptagonal, 7 hexagonal, 32 pentagonal (30 for a hippopotamus + 2 for ears) and 2 quadrangular (nostrils). Schemes of motives and assembly are attached :) After the assembly and stuffing of the hippo, it is necessary to decorate with a tail and eyes. For the eyes, you can take ready-made ones (plastic on a leg) or knit it yourself: black yarn: 6 sc in an amigurumi ring, 6 increments (12); white yarn: connecting column, sbn, increase (2 sbn in one loop), dc, 3 dc in one loop, dc, increase, sbn, connecting column.

Knitting patterns for motifs:

... or "I fell in love with a hippopotamus"))) Here is such a pun :) What can you do if it's true? I saw a photo on the Internet ... and lost my head))) It's not even love ... but some kind of passion))) I want this and that's it ... but what's the point of just wanting?))) you need to take it and do it ... that's what we'll do today) ))

So on the agenda, hippo crocheted from motives...

P.S. my dears, don’t judge my hippo strictly, please, I really, really like it))) ... and don’t scold me too much - I could make a mistake with the calculations of the pentagons, the fact is that I knitted it without a pattern ... just connecting the pentagons together in the process of work, and I drew the diagram later, according to the finished hippopotamus .... if you find an error, please feel free to point it out to me)))

And yet ... as practice has shown, my "sketches" were not clear to everyone ... and this is not surprising ... therefore, here are a few more photos for you that may help you in hard work - assembling a Hippo)))
