The Ministry of Labor has prepared a draft government resolution on postponing days off. It is posted on the federal portal of regulatory legal acts. According to the document, the day off from Saturday, January 5, will be moved to Thursday, May 2, and Sunday, January 6, will be moved to Friday, May 3. Saturday 23 February will be moved to Friday 10 May.

The Russian Ministry of Labor has prepared proposals for postponing days off in 2019. According to the draft decree of the Russian government, during the New Year and Christmas holidays, Russian citizens will rest from December 30, 2018 to January 8, 2019.

The next holidays, Defender of the Fatherland Day and International Women's Day, will last from February 23 to 24 and from March 8 to 10, respectively.

Russians will also have a holiday from May 1 to May 5 and from May 9 to 12, when the country will celebrate the Spring and Labor Day and Victory Day.

A draft of a new resolution prepared by the department has appeared on the federal portal of regulatory legal acts, from which you can find out which days off will become working days next year and vice versa.

So, the New Year holidays in the country will begin on December 30 and will last until January 8, 2019.

Just recently it became known that the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation has already approved production calendars for 2019. This list is valid for people working 40-hour, 36-hour and 24-hour work weeks.

January

In January we have 14 days off. Of these, January 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 are scheduled weekends. From 1 to 6, as well as 8 January - New Year holidays. And on January 7, together with all of Russia, we celebrate the Nativity of Christ.

February

Next year there will be only 28 days in February. And we have 8 days to rest. Among which, the 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th and 24th are regular weekends. On February 23, Russia celebrates Defender of the Fatherland Day. Because the holiday falls on Saturday, the previous Friday will be a shortened working day.

March

In March, all Russians have as many as 11 days off out of 31. And all because March 8, International Women's Day, falls on a Friday. This means that at the beginning of the month we will have 3 days of rest in a row. March 7, in honor of the holiday, is a shortened workday.

2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31 - scheduled weekends.

April

Unfortunately, April will not please us with additional days off. The 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th are the most common days of rest. But on April 30, on the eve of the holiday, we will have a shortened workday.

May

The last month of spring will greet us as usual holidays.

On May 1, the whole country will celebrate Labor and Rest Day. And in honor of this, Russians are waiting for 5 days off in a row.

May 9 is Victory Day. The holiday falls on Thursday, so we will have 4 days off this week. May 8 – shortened workday.

4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 are planned rest days.

June

August

The New Year holidays will last 10 days, and May holidays will be longer than usual.

Why are weekends and holidays postponed?

Next year, several holidays coincide with weekends. In order to comply with the norm of Article 110 of the Labor Code that there should be at least 42 hours of continuous rest between two working weeks, Mitrud developed a draft government resolution on the transfer of days off in 2019.

The transfer of rest days is proposed in order to rationally plan working time and create conditions for proper rest and organization of leisure time for Russians not only in winter time, but also in the spring and summer.

Weekends January 5 and 6 (Saturday and Sunday) in accordance with Labor Code are already non-working holidays and are moved to May 2 and 3, respectively (Thursday and Friday). Defender of the Fatherland Day, which falls on Saturday, will add a day of rest on Friday, May 10.

In total, in the first half of May we rest, first from May 1 to May 5, and then from May 9 to 12. Between these mini-vacations you will have to work only three days.
